what I've read.....head gasket and warped head...

just had my heat exchanger welded today, hope I'm not in the same boat as you......

X2 on the warped head and head gasket.
 
I had the same thing happen to me it is definitely the head gasket an yes I had a warped head to. What is happening is the pistons r putting pressure into the system witch pushes out the over floe.


The cool thing is now u can do some motor work. That's what I did an it tares #*$&@. I am kinda glad it happen cuz my nitro kicks #*$&@!!!
 
I couldn't really tell you. I wish I kinda new the same thing. my guess is don't drive it when the light turns on lol
 
The trouble with a temperature sensor is it doesn't read acuratley when it's not submersed in liquid. If the heat exchanger gets a hole and leaks out all the coolant there will be a delay before the sensor gets hot enough to trigger. By that time it may be to late. Guess it depends on how long it takes to empty the coolant too. If it's just a slow leak it may heat up quick enough to still be in coolant.

By the sounds of others it doesn't take long to warp the head.
