Newbie here-
I have been reading this website for months and looking to buy a 2014 viper. This forum is much better than others around IMO. Just getting back into snowmobiling after 4 years off. Im getting old. I really want a heated seat bad. but dont care for the looks of the deluxe model. I like the red and black one ltx se. Just wondering how difficult it would be or even if its worth it.. Thanks for your imput!

Make sure you realize the SE version is pretty stiff. The regular LTX comes with a heated seat bigger windshield a tunnel bag and a more plush ride. For the savings you can have with that you can buy a wrap and have a custom one. If you get the heated seat element its 399.00 dollars and it changes the seat cover to a all black one. Dont know if you can put that heating element with the stock seat cover.

I put the heated seat under the stock cover on my Blue LTX SE no problem !! did not want the all black cover so I will keep it as a spare.
the job is not hard just takes a little time pulling the cover back and restapling it back together.

Thanks for the replys Yammy Tim and Big Dave. Looks like for around $400 and some work I can get a heated seat with out changing the color of the seat and get the sled that I want. Yammy Tim-I just like the black tunnel and black painted suspension too much. If I am going to spend 10-11 k I want a sled that looks kick #*$&@. Plus I think it really hold the resale value down the road. I can always down grade the shocks if its too stiff. But I still like too hit a few jumps and ride semi-aggressive (I think)l-I am not too worried about it. Thanks for your input. Like I said- this site has good people on it.

Right on bud! Pull the trigger! It's a nice sled, with a heated seat. Now I'll have to get one! I ordered one with the sled, but when I seen the black seat cover I said no. And it was to new to know if it would work. So I said maybe later.
It's all good! Enjoy your sled! I just got mine back so I'll be riding tomorrow! Going for 4000 miles! I like the white tunnel, but it was a tough choice!

I added the heated element and switch found on the viper to my wife's vector. Works great (she's extremely happy) and looks great. The element is seperate from the cover, so you don't have to put the new cover on. The kit comes with everything needed....seat cover, element, switch, and harness. Just plug and play on the viper. You would have to cut out the switch location, but I believe the underside of the hood has a template imprinted into the plastic molding.

Not sure where it is fused but that is where my GPS was plugged in and then the dealer used it for the seat heater. I purchased a splitter and now both run off of that 2 pin plug.JTSKIR222 said:The one they say to use for a heated shield?

Hey guys,
I am planning on installing a heated seat on my wife's 2015 Viper MTX. I have several questions:
Why is the MTX model not listed as an application model?
Will the MTX model still have the factory plug in?
How well does it work?
The one and only complaint my wife ever has when riding is that her butt gets cold. I am hoping this solves that.
Thanks
