With the exception of power steering, the current Vector LTX is just that. Horsepower is a little lower maybe, but it's the same engine: 1050cc triple.Just curious - thanks!

I bought a 13 vector LTX a couple of weeks ago - it took two guys to get it on its side - I could do that by myself with the viper. I think the 4s and PS add a lot of weight.

the viper motor is a 4s, the yamaha 1050 found in the nytro's and basically the same as the vectors. No weight savings to be had from the motor since they are the same.

That would be interesting. I imagine the electrical and the exhaust would be difficult to sort out. It would be cool if someone could pull that off though. Yamaha should think about a clean 2 stroke Ski Doo's SDI. Their missing out on a lot of business from people that want a lighter sled. I love my Warrior, but a lot of people wont ride something that heavy. Back in the day when Yamaha made Vipers and SRX's they had the best 2 stroke engines out there. I'd be interested in a modern fuel injected triple. There's no reason they can't do it. That's just my opinion for what its worth.

How much weight do you really think you will save by swapping a 3 cyl viper for the 4 cyl? I think most of the weight is in the chassis but I could be wrong. Maybe 20 to 30 pds tops. So an Attack would then weigh 550 instead of 580!
There is a lot more going on to get a Doo as light as it is other then just the motor!

Wow someone has a lot of time wrapped up in that !! They did an awesome job with it though. I bet it is really heavy. Where do you order a clutch kit for that set up.

I always thought a Yami four in my old Pantera to replace the 1000 tripple would have made an awesome sled.

WOW thats what I love about this site!!! you open a thread expecting to see some stupid things and then you find out there is someone more nuts than you.
A viper motor or nytro (same) in an Attack would be a dissapointment after riding the 4 holer.
I put a stroked Apex motor in an RX chasis several years ago and that was a nightmare due to electronics and fuel pump in tank issues but that Toyota setup would push the limits!!!!

He is talking about the 2 stroke SX Viper not the SR Viper four stroke.
