I work as a maintenance tech and we subscribe to a monthly lubrication magazine. can't remember the name right now.
anyways. this mag had a write up on royal purple and what problems it solved in a paper manufacturing plant. bottom line of the article was that royal purple solved the initial problem that this plant was having with bearing failure and it did such a good job that the plant called them in to see what other issues and problems they could solve. royal purple solved 11 of the 12 problems that the paper plant gave them. from premature bearing wear to seal failures to reduced heat and reduced amp draw on start up = easier start up. the stuff they claimed it did was simply amazing. the reason it was 11 out of 12 was because royal purple did not offer a lubricant for 1 particular application.
I used it before i read the article and still continue to use it. I even run the snow-2-c in my viper and have no issues.
I have a friend that works for napa and i get it heavily discounted so i can actually afford it.
If you can afford it i recomend it but there are plenty of great oils out there and you cant go wrong with most of the high end lubes

I would like to try it but not at all costs. They need to get their product to the customers by a better means. They lost a potential customer here simply because they can not deliver the goods at a reasonable cost. I pay $10 dollars a litre for 0W40 at Canadian Tire down the street they need to match that at least before I try it.

I work at a napa store in ontario, we cary castrol syn-tec, and royal purple and even a "napa synthetic" and we can sell the royal purple for 7.99 a litre canadian its the most reasonalbly priced synthetic out there better than ams-oil but again i dont know what grade to run, they do not make a 0w anything that is why i am going to run ams-oil next year (the pre-season was done when i bought the sled im not going to waist oil) one of my good customers is an ams-oil dealer that is who i normally deal with and he treats me right he gets me 20w50 for my 04 wolverine and he got me interceptor for my viper last year and my friend and i are getting 0w40 for his apex this year and for my attak next year
Can all NAPA stores sell at that price?

well it depends how greedy they are and how hard it is for them to get, i am talking canadian priceing, and not much hassel to get, we orde it in through an aftermarket supplier called keystone usuall a day or two to get for us at least but we are an assosiate store (independantly owned) but if they dont deal with keystone they prolly cant get it

Black 1000 said:Actually Royal has excellent products. I use the gear lube in all my stuff. I use Amsoil in all the crankcases
I picked up some royal 75-90 gear....is this what you run in your cases?
Well I just changed the oil in my 04 F350 6l Diesel and I went with the Royal Purple and it does seem to be running smoother. The truth will be in gas mileage i will be keeping a close eye on it. I was using Amsoil so it will be interesting to see if the fuel economy.

I never looked at it that way. LOL How about 12 guart for 79.95 free shipping. I can pick it up in town at oreilys for 7 bucks. Would you run 5w-30. I really was impressed with the write up you posted on it. Maxdlx

So would it be ok to run the 5w30 Royal Purple in my Vector? Or do I really need the 0w?

Make sure you get the stuff for motorcycles/snowmobiles and yes 5w30 is what I would run unless they had the 0w40.

They don't make 0w anything and no 5w 40. They only had the car oils. the guy at the counter said he runs it in his attak no problem. H esaid the motorcycle oil is mainly designated that for wet clutches. He said it would be like running mobil one right off the shelf in a sled, which alot of guys do. I said no way, you need to go to TY and check it out. He said cool sounds greta. Then the wife starte honking at me so the moment was ruined. LOL I'm going to try it in the trailblazer and see how it works, and then the sled is next. Whats the worst that can happen on a 7000 miles motor. Maxdlx
PS he sold me on the purple ice too. Said he changed his anti freeze to 50/50 with royal purple purple ice, and hasn't had the light come on since.
