Key word “most”.Most of my mods are in sig. I said a stock Viper is true 80mph sled and a New Apex is a true 90mph sled. New.
My point was meant to be that not all Apex’s are all that fast. You all know I don’t think my Viper is all that fast either. When I quit modding it is when I think it’s fast enough.
You got some good advice. Start from stock and go from there. The missing rpm will make a world of difference.

2019 sidewinder xtx le, sleeping for now
My mostly "stock" viper barely beat a clutched 17 Doo 850 ( don't look in my sig)

I thought this thread was about someone having issues with there 2014 viper not about who's is faster just saying.
The OP compared his Viper to his Apex. Thats how it got started. I am confident he has found the solution to why his Viper is such a Turd. RPM. It will never be as fast as his old Apex though. 800 class sled vs a 600 class sled. The positives of the Viper will overcome the negatives as long as he is realistic though.Took my Viper for my first ride today. I bought it a month and a half ago. I am not impressed with the power. My old 2012 apex RIPPED!!
I think something is wrong with it. It has good power in the lower rpns but wont rev over 7200
Its a 2014 SR VIPER LTX it has 6900 miles on it. It has an excel performance cold air intake installed.
It has a Hauck power sports 45/41 secondary helix
Primary weights have been added to to help with backshift
stock can.
1) First of all it starts hard ( will reflash help this)
2) Engine breaks up at around 7200 RPMS and wont go any higher. This even happened going down a road rather than in deep snow.
3) When lightly pressing the throttle occasionally there is a hesitation and it wants to quit for a second, but doesn't stall.
4) Bogged even worse in the deep powder. (Do I need a deflector on the skid plate for the exhaust outlet??)
I cannot remember for sure. I think it ran fine at first and then got worst the longer I rode it. Even then it didn't seem to have as much power as my old 12 apex. I hear these engines should be really strong.
I seem to remember hearing it hit the rev limiter at the beginning of the ride. Then suddenly it went away.
The snow was very deep today, and the temperature was 5 degrees.
To be fair... Lol. If I had to chose between my 2010 apex or a viper..... I’d take that new chassis every day of the week. Even if it’s only a 80 mph sled. The OP compared his Viper to his Apex. So how fast is a "mostly" stock viper?
Like to know how I'm doing with my geared AC XF7000 141

80 almost everywhere except real bad conditions like heavy wet snow. Mine is now about a true 90mph sled maybe slightly more. Either stock or modded will kill almost any 600 out there apples to apples. So how fast is a "mostly" stock viper?

You need another hobby.. only I can razz the mods.
I’d just like to see what a stock winder can do against a 108 mph viper. I’d be happy to buy lunch. You need another hobby.. only I can razz the mods.
