Budda its been a couple years since I was there. What is the name of the restaurant just before you go around the 90 deg corner in town...also the place west of munising on the lake ( can or could get gas there)..

As Dan said The Dogpatch is the one one right by the 90 degree turn........as to the one to the west, I can't think of anything that fits that bill.......The Brownestone is west but it's a ways west of AuTrain.........and it's not on the lake (wrong side of M-28), not even a view of the lake.......plus I can't remember them ever having gas......you got me baffled.......

blueironranger, forgot to ask, when are you going to Munising? We are planning on heading up there on the 22nd and coming home on the 27th. Will be staying at the Comfort Inn. We are meeting friends from New York that week. If you are up there when we are, maybe we can hook up and say Hello. Dan

20th-23rd, My avatar is exactly the rid I'll be running out there, riding with 2 or 3 Popo crossovers.

No buckhorn is exactly what I was thinking to the west...it is still there isnt it...did many breakfast there.

Buckhorn is still open and has gas.

Brownstone is delicious for dinner, especially the friday night fish.

Sydney's is good. Dogpatch is a classic landmark of Munising.

There's also the Navigator downtown, but I've never been crazy about it.

Woodlands in Shingleton is closed, but the Oasis gas station next to it is open. It's right on trail 8.

Yep.....still there and going strong......new owners from last season.......doing real well.......that's where you fooled me with the "west of Munising"........it's actually more south than west.........but I pick nits..........I just wasn't thinking down that way........and yes, they still have gas......just bring $$$$$$........

Mrsled made a good point. There is a rather large thread on johndee about grooming on trail 8 or lack of it I should say. Cant comment on it personally just what I have been reading is all.

I'll have to check that thread out, worst case we will have to trailer to and from the hotel each day. Whooped out trails don't phase my Phazer that much..... Yes I just said that!

When I was up in muninsing 2 weeks a go they only had one groomer running. I read the other day that bolth groomers are down now. Watch out 8 was bad when I was their 4-5 ft holes in part of it. The trais were great all across the up but around muninsing.

Staying in muni now, rode 155 miles yesterday trails are in good shape, seen groomer out on trail 8 going east towards shinglton last night. Were riding to the south today from comfort inn.

Good to hear the groomer is running again, plan on heading up next Sat. with the wife and a friend of her's will be at the Comfort Inn till Thursday and they do not get along with rough trails :)

Sorry Rich but that ain't going to happen.........you know the story about how that guy built The Haywire?.........he tried to buy Boot Lake but they would only sell as a package deal including the house.......he wasn't interested in the house but Boot Lake owners were adamant.......so he said "I'll build my own and run you out of business"........I have no personal stake in anything but I refuse to patronize somebody that builds a place in that proximity simply out of spite......never set foot in the place and don't intend to, regardless of what happen to Boot Lake.

I may be stating the obvious, that is why you never pass a gas station without topping off. Years ago I got burned by this, think it was around strongs, just never know when a station is going to close. I now always top off when I see gas, was bad when running my 2 stroke viper in the past, even with my four strokes it is still good practice.
