5500 miles. new track, new slides, all new bearings. I went up to the UP on a trip at the end of December and burned up my hyfax's in 300 miles. No problems while I was up there. Came home, changed out slides and took it out for a run on the local trails. Plenty of snow. I know I had my track tensioned ok because i noticed some ratcheting. I came up to a stopsign about 5 miles down the trail and when i tried taking off, my track was locked up, you could tell it wanted to move but it just wouldnt. I finally got it loose and proceeded. As I went down the trail i noticed that at slower speeds (up to 15 or 20mph) it was taking a lot for it to move, like something was hanging up or the ebrake was on (it wasnt). When I would let off the throttle from slower speeds, the machine came to a quick stop. I am suspecting that either the hyfax's werent "broke in" yet (but this doesnt explain the "braking" from slower speeds) or my secondary buttons are worn. If anyone has any suggestions please send them my way, and if anyone can tell me a telltale sign of when clutch buttons are wore out please pass that on too. Thanks in advance.

track sounds too tight ,or the suspension if set wrong ,the new dupont slides are great from the dealer part number - sma dpssr-00-0, if thats all good check the bearings in the gear case and parts in there , or loosen the tack ,jack the track off the floor and check the bearing in the jack shaft for play...

also spin the track slow and make sure it is not running sideways ,maybe more turns on one side ... check the brakes too maybe caliper sticking or pads

Check your clips. Is there black hyfax stuck on them? Clean it off, and find more snow. I still dont understand how people are burning these slides off. I have 3000km on the same set and all I did was add a few wheels. Easy.
