help cannondale

I took pictures of almost every move with my cell phone, so i could look back during re-assemble. I marked the little vacuum lines with tape so i wouldn't forget. The oil hose was about my only worry. Block the sled up nice and slowly wiggle it forward and off. You're going to need a quite long allen wrench for the air box to the throttle bodies. I think i put an allen bit on a quarter inch extention. Just pay attention to detail, and take your time. Maybe an hour to take the front end off, wild guess at an hour or two for bushings,( but no idea,) and about 2 hours to carefully re-assemble.

thanks spike. the airbox is something i am very familiar with.just not taking the front end off. I will follow the instructions on cannondale's fron end removal post. i assume the bushing locations are going to be obvious once i am in therez?

There is 8 larger bushings and 4 smaller ones. Large ones go in the lower a-arms, small ones in the top. Make sure when you are pressing them in, that they start straight! You can add a bit of oil or grease before putting it all back together, but it's not necessary since they are made from Oillite bronze.

If you already did your air box, the rest is just nuts and bolts. You got it.

OK so I have ordered everything I'll need to take most play out of front end . but while I wait for parts to come in is there anything you guys are doing with the rear suspension without going to the extreme of new suspension like mtn tamer. For example is there alternatives for coil springs and what do they do anything you guys have tried would help me thanks ty brothers are always so helpful and this site rocks.

The only thing i have done was revalve the shocks in the rear. Wat kind of shocks are in your phazer? same as rtx?

I would look into a aftermarket shock with Fox being cheapest and Axis being more.

just received ulmer bushing kit still waiting on up bushmans steering box kit and lower balljoint fix from nci and operation tighten front end will commence. :die

They are on the way. I see that CP's wonderful tracking system is working as expected..../sarcasm

Thanks crewcheif not complaining just an excited update planning a trip on 4 of feb won't be doing anything with sled till after that don't want to tempt faith.

just about ready for operation remove steering slop in phaz now have bushmans steering kit , nci lower balljoint fix, ulmer oilite bushings and now just ordered oft's steering block fix . But right now there is to much great snow to think of scrapping her down right now . Hope everyone has great conditions like this.

Usually after every 2000 miles war has to waged on the front end ,then sink abour 450 bucks into her.
