Help with code flashing 3

Trying to get a buddy's sled ready after he bought a UN-loved 03 RX1 , everything done , but now noticed its flashing 3 times on display, not sure if it did it before or not, I did not touch anything electrical , all mechanical, any help would be great , manual say thumb warmer disconnected, only flashes when I turn thumb warmer down , then rev it up , code starts flashing and it automatically goes to full thumb heat ???????????

the manual says 3 flash's is the switch 4 is the thumbwarmer its self

Tried switching with mine (known good ) same thing , only happens when reved over 5500, then tach does funny things just before light comes on, weird thing is code is for thumb warmer disconnected but it still heats up!
