HID Kits

Anyone have recommendations on which HID kit to buy for the Viper?
 
I have a set of h4-3 6000k 55 watt. And they are great! I got them at a friend of mine Kevin at Bluhm Enterprises. Great guy! Great lights. I have them on everything with lights.

That's because you need a "true" Bi-Xenon HID ;)!

I'm guessing you have a single HID element correct? That's what I had and while they are the cat's #*$&@ on low beams, the high beams were useless.. unless you want to go owl spotting high up in the trees that is :o| Apparently the single element HID's gets moved up (some sort of servo type controller in the bulb housing) when you hit the high beam button....but it aims them too high for our use.

I just got some true Bi-Xenon's (dual element in a single housing) from Racesport and hope to try them out soon... crappy thing is that there are 4 slim ballasts to mount with this system.

Mine are awesome, I have bi xenon. With the cats lights it's impossible to adjust while riding. But I have mine pretty close. My low beams light up right in front of me pretty good. The high beams light up a little bit in front of me. And a little more wide spread. Not as intense as they were on the Nytro. But pretty good. I could spend a little more time getting them perfect, but it's to hard to adjust. I have them close enough.

I have "true" bi-xenon lights and I only have two ballast. And I don't mess with slim ballast. I have the bigger ones, but have zero flame outs. And no flickering. I had the same ones but different number. And they lasted 7000 miles with my Nytro. And my wife has them on her vector and she has over 6000 miles. Zero problems. Lights are bright as hell. In hers are four years old.

Yes single element that moves in and out. The high is distorted and dim no matter where it is aimed. Low is awesome. Feel sorry for those coming at me since I am just using the low beam.

Tim yours have two elements?
 
i have one bulb inside of the housing, when its lit up and i hit the brights there is a magnet that pulls the light back which shines the light on a different part of the light. changing the angles of the light with the reflectors inside the headlight which changes the beam angle.

Right, that's not a true bi xenon. It's a single xenon that gets moved up when you hit your high beam button.

Here is a picture of a true bi-xenon.... Two elements per carrier hence four ballasts total. I'm hoping these make my high beams just as awesome as my low beams!

Well it's true to me...lol cause it's bright both brights and dims without having to wait for the light you put it on to fire. Once you change from one to another that light will have to charge and while that's happening there won't be much light showing until there fully charged. I hope that's not the case, but if you have two separate ballast it will go back and forth more and be harder on them. Mine are already bright so when I switch from bright to dim the light is already charged. I wouldn't think yours would be any brighter. Unless they both light up at the same time. And if so would be very bad for oncoming traffic!

I'll test them and get back to you with video. Right now it's not a question of brightness, it's a question of bulb angle. The bi-directional Xenon kit I have sucks on high beams because the angle is too high and I see no way to adjust this down. My HID supplier (Racesport) recommended I try what they call a "true" Bi-Xenon so that's what I am going to try.

I'd rather wait a second or two to have brights that work than to continue with what I have but to each their own.
 
Keep me posted. Other option would be second pair of hids. Mounted elsewhere like the trail techs I have on quad. Maybe just one even the spot for high beam.
 
If your lights don't move back and forth how are the going to hit the reflectors in the lights to change the angle? If the stay there and light up it's not going to change anything. Mine move back and forth like the stock ones, so they hit the reflectors inside the light. Dims have a different angle than the brights. The brights are going to hit a different set of reflectors which would change the angle. That's why they go higher. And if your going fast and have to change from high to low you would have to slow way down and wait for them to charge before you will have enough light to see. Unless your behind someone and just drive off of there tail lights.
