Hammer, do you think you'd get 3000 miles on the hiperfax regardless of whether you run the scratchers? Also would you advise us to specifically get the narrow hiperfax vs the wide for the Apex mtn?
Guys -- Just telling you what I run, it works, if you choose to go another direction or only go halfway, well, that's your decision to make.
I just replace my stock sliders after 1,000 miles of mainly trail ridding. Only one of them really needed to be replaced becuase it melted after a 5 mile ride across a lake with no snow. For what ever reason the other one didn't melt. It looked to be half worn. Even the sleds with 1" tracks melted slidders. (Couldn't avoid the lake run.) I am running Simmons Ski's with there cooling fins
I broke off both of my hartman ski mount scratchers within 300 miles so i went with the holtz racing type that mount on your rails i have put them to the test and havent broke them yet, however give me alittle longer i'll have them broke too i'm kinda hard on my equip. i heard of a new brand they are called "bellyscratchers" i dont think they are out yet, they mount on the belly of your sled it kicks snow into the full length of your track like the ski mount style but i think these are alot more durable. I'll try to find out some more info on this style.

They sell that belly style at my Yammie dealer.
I dont think the "belly scratchers" are in production yet, i think they only have prototypes out. i saw a prototype at the a snomo show i think they were seeing what kind of responce they would get from the public. and they were working on all the legal stuff (patent, trademarks, name registrations, website, etc.) there was alot of people looking at them. they looked pretty good to me, i think it is a pretty good concept
