I have my system all done and installed. I took a little extra time to hide most of it, so it is not too cluttered under the hood, while also trying to keep the fuel in the lines, so purging would be to a minimum. I will post pics of Holtzmans kit installed tonight.
Jeff - would I be able to adjust timing with just this box, or is it just a preset CDI?

Tom - Are there a lot of DNR guys out there? I would like to bring the monster quad up, and make some 140mph passes.

I ran Nitrous on my XC8 last year and loved it. Burnt it down once because I put the wrong size jets in (purely my fault) but that is a simple re-build on a 2-stroke. You have to rejet a 2-stroke for 10-20 degree changes unless you want to run really fat all the time.
Whether you are running Nitrous or a tubo on a 2-stroke, there is a lot less room for error. And for that matter, nitrous is much more of a gamble to run vs. a turbo as well.
Is this the same for 4-strokes? If the gas you are getting is not perfect or if you get a little water in the airbox isn't it much more of a risk with nitrous vs. Turbo?
Are jet changes as vital with 4-strokes as they are with 2 strokes, if so I can't see changing the jetting every week to use it, for me at least. In MN here it will be 25 one day and -10 the next.
Any input would be appreciated.

kenlacy - I know exactly what you mean by jetting changes on a 2 stroke, they are finicky. As far as the four stroke, you still have lubrication, but will pop when there is a lean condition. A 2 stroke would have burned down by this point. As far as hurting anything, it depends on the condition of the engine, and how well the engine is tuned. A poorly tuned engine won't "clean" itself out by adding nitrous, or bumping up pressure from a turbo, your just doubling the problem. I ran the same jetting in the summer as I did in the winter. It was fat, but try that with a 2 stroke.

what about clutching with the nos ? i am ready to purchase but want to know any of the drawbacks. i already have heavy hitters & i know they are tuneable but how would you tune them for both on & off the bottle ?.

I saw around a 500+ rpm jump - I know if your running a 20 HP shot (that is what I have on my 800) there is no real need to re-clutch - now that might be different if your going up to 45 HP or more.
On my 800, on ice with 144 pics (880 ft.) at the radar runs - stock I hit 86 - on the juice I hit 97. No clutch change. This was the first time I had ever done radar runs so I spun like crazy off the line. (I got too excited hitting the button

Here are a couple pics
Hitting the button will jump the rpms about 400-500. That is if your hooked up, so watch for track spin also.
I used some nitrous on RIB LAKE Saturday on my 03 RX1 with a NOS fogger system , and spun the track big time when engaging the button. After that the bottle didn't have the pressure, and bogged after that. (my 03 system needs to have the bottle heated before each run.) I have it clutched for a 9,700 top rpm before the button, and still spun the track at 60mph. 144 pics on ice.
