Sorry about link as I know they are not a site sponsor. Has anyone used this hood retainer kit or come up with a similar idea? I really like the looks of this idea but seems a bit steep in price. Do any of our sponsors sell a similar kit? I just installed a LED kit from Rock on my wife's viper and the whole hood removal is a PIA. First timmer but can see how big a problem this would be on the trail. This looks like a good solution.

evolution powersports sells a similar kit i think.
If i remember correctly the kit you are linking to, the guy suggests leaving out the 2 long screws under the nose of the hood when using his kit.
In my opinion, those 2 screws are the only ones that are difficult to remove while your on the trail.
So if your gonna leave those 2 screws off, the other 4 are real easy to remove, no need for his kit. Just my opinion.
When i first purchased my viper i haded the whole hood design and removal, now im used to it. Its a 3-4 minute job to remove. Honestly, save your cash for something more useful. I would suggest just practicing taking the hood off a few times. Once you do it 4-5-6 times you realise its not all that difficult.
I also don't think the smaller dia of the dzus fasteners is a good idea. Many of us have already used metal as a washer to keep the heads of the screws from wearing into the plastic. The head is way bigger on the screws. Is serrated though which probably doesn't help the wear.
