How do the new yamahas handle water skiping?

And what about the person who panicks cause they haven't tried it...I think everyone should do it once...Like 20 ft or so..Just so they know its an option...

Better to stay off the water and if you find your going to go in it pin it, keep your balance and look for the nearest exit off the ice preferably straight ahead. Besides the chance of going on open water if riding on lakes or rivers with the correct amount of ice on them is very small. More people go on water with sleds to show off and for the danger thrill not to save their life.

There are situations where you need to skip water up here, especially during late spring from the floe edge...Most of us also practice on the lake so as to know what to do in the event where you have no choice and no boat and you need to cross to the good ice.

I would never recommend it for anyone who has not tried it before, but mountain powder riders have the same type of moves that we use up here...Please do not try it.

If I recall NOS-PRO ran open water early this winter with his Attak and reported no problems.
It was Nos-Pro that told me his skis were starting to sink. He didn't like it. ;)!

I didn't like the stock skis, as I felt like the titanic going down. I have the C&A Razors on it now, and no problem as BLUEDOG, and myself were water skipping last thursday in northern Wisconsin. If you think stock skis don't have floatation on snow, they are worse skipping water.

We just had one death and another sled go down in the past week in NH.
It is also illegal to skim in NH now. I can see where you would want to know what to do if you have absolutely no choice but to cross but it is very dangerous to do. Not sure I understand the allure but then again I am not young anymore.

Be safe folks ;)!
