how i made out at the lake today

we usually run all day and the best runs are always later in the day when it gets cooler,we ran a couple mph slower earlier in the day on all machines.i also drag race cars and the best numbers are always early in the morning or later in the day

another pic from this morning, was hoping for some pics at the other end showing us winning but this is a good pic of the start
I hope you beat him at the end..... It looks like he was already on the throttle and you were sleeping... :flag:

YES what pat the rat says-
After 2-2:30 pm ish speeds can go up,less cross wind and temps/sun start to go down.Make some test runs early(always important) then adjust things between runs till your good and park it,eat lunch and then let er rip later.Make sure the radar gun guys stick around and have spare batteries.

Let the Machs and other sleds run early then you make your final few runs later after 2pm.This is just 1 little trick to get better speeds! SSShhhhh. ;)!

Also why your sled seems slower some days-because you ran earlier than you did on some other day,all things being equal (same temps and conditions).

My speeds on ice went up at least 2-4+mph for a 1 mile run.

When someones sled runs a much faster time in the mid afternoon than previously, its time to get your sled out quick. Its showtime!

I have not been to Mallard lake.
But I have seen the speeds go up later in the day.I was still adjusting things and put up 2 runs over 122+ mph (gain of 3-4+ mph form earlier)and the other guys said "its time",then quickly jumped on their sleds when previously they were just standing around for about an hour.It was around 2:30 pm and they realized it was go time!

youre running strong with that apex, too bad youre so far from us cause we could get together for a few runs.i cant get my warrior over 113 mph,i guess the long track takes away speed,my buds 03 rx1 runs from 118 to 120 consistantly

speed running.

I don't know why everyone always cut down the srx's.Stock motor and exhaust they are capalbe of those speeds sets up properly (if you know what your doing)The guys that always put hem down are the guys that don't know how to make them run.

at least a couple guys believe me.those guys know what they are doing big time, they thrive on speed, sometimes they start at 8:oo in the morning and run until the sun sets day after day.try countless clutch set up

hey sledfreak....if you enlarge the pic of my rtx and the orange firecat, you will see that both sleds were on the gas,we werent sleeping, mine only lifts the skis about 2 inches and goes forward unlike the f7 which just lifts a foot on takeoff,i know it looks like we were asleep at the wheel but we werent,up to 1000 ft they are pretty even but after 1000ft it bye bye time to the f7 and the 05machz in the first pic at top of post, you gotta understand that this isnt an ordinary f7,he beat all other f7's at the radar run 2 weeks ago by 5-7mph(we did too)and the machz was beating us by 2mph on 1000ft radar run but 1200 ft we are ahead of him, sunday morning we were all real close at 1000 ft but beat them both to the 1200ft cone, gotta love it when you beat up on the real good sleds huh

Oh Yaaaaaaa....... It's a beautiful thing. So far, what do you have done to your sled. Tractiion, clutching, gearing, air box mods....

Pro 116, Nobody is putting down SRX's, I owned a couple of them. I have also run them in Radar runs in North Bay and even Improvers don't go 128 MPH in 2000 ft. And yes SRX are fast for what they were and I loved them for what they were.

The fastest SRX I have seen, is 122 on radar.

They are running 2500ft, and around here legal improve 700's run 120 in 1000ft
