I love this There is no brand loyalist jumping on down talking one or the other like other site!!! This is great info for me since we own both brands!!(7000 and viper)
For sure! The 7000 shares almost all the same characteristics as the viper, and the cat guys have had this chassis for 2 years prior to us so it's great to get the easy tips from them without having to work hard to figure it out.
You bet. I ride with a bunch of Cats all the time. As long as the parts apply to both is a great thing!

Wasn't there a recall on some of the Team clutches? I would ask your dealer and by all means complain about the performance.

Hey Matt since you are under warranty call your dealer and insist that your want your sled to run at the right rpm!!! 8000 rpm isn't right my wife's sled from new(2014) was always over 8600rpm to 9000rpm! Something isn't right!!!Already had the recall done, and ive complained about it and nothing has been done yet.
Hello! Cat clutches are not the same as Yamaha so that and the hood are two subjects that need to be discussed at another site. It's that simple.

I would think that D&D would be the front runner with getting clutching for the newest Cats. Best advice is to contact Studroes as he has been doing some Cat testing hence the start of this tread. I also think he has solid connections at D&D.
That and Nos-Pro as he is in tight with Thunder.

D&D has setups for the new 2016 turbo and 800, still waiting for weights to come in to start testing on the 7000. That is for 2016's with the team clutches. This is an update from them from this afternoon, as soon as I seen the post regarding the 7000 I asked. As far as other kits for them it's just a matter of doing a bunch of google searches to see if anyone has a cure.

I am new to the site an just want to say this is a awesome forum. One of the best I have been on for information. I am a xf 7000 owner and have been reading about the gearing guestion. I also experience all the things you guys are talking with my 2014 xf 7000 and was going to the in the gear direction next to see the triple digits. Sled new would hit rev limiter and see speed ofno more the upper 80’s in good conditions. Put in the 60 gram weights and am now seeing low 90’s. So was wondering to go with clutch it or gears or both. Would like to see 100 mph. My brother runs a 2015 vector and it will pull to 105 mph, same motor. The vector runs 24/39 gears. So do I buy the set with the Yamaha chain or just get the 24 T for mine and new chain? Save me the cost of one sprocket. Also, should I also go with a bikerman or D and D kit? Thx for any info. The RTX LE shares the same gearing as the Cats. 21-49. What I did just to be thrifty was purchase a 24T upper and the appropriate 92P? chain leaving the lower sprocket as is. This puts me just a hair over the std Viper gearing. Only time will tell.
First off welcome! Sorry to be a bummer but park next to the Vector and look at the differences. Thats reason its faster on top. Lower more aerodynamic and way less track angle. Not to mention if using speedo ours is more accurate. You should see 100mph stock on a perfect run, perfect conditions and a fresh belt. If not and any evidence of black on clutches go with clutching first. I am modded and geared to moon. 25/45 it does make speeds more consistent since now my clutches are not having to try to fully shift. I believe it helped on launches also since track speed is higher. That said for off trail use I would actually gear lower than stock and not worry about top speed. The gearing will not effect your clutching much if at all. But as far as clutches you must not hit Rev limiter or all speed will be lost. Thats why the 60g's worked well. There is more left in your clutches so you just need more power or better conditions for that 10 mph.I am new to the site an just want to say this is a awesome forum.
