How many of you are keeping your RX1?

With 2,300 or so miles I don't know when I will ever get rid of it. With all the work I've done it really is a very nice ride. The only Apex's I've run against I didn't have any problems with. The rear skid swap was a must and totally changed the handling and comfort.

I'm stay with mine for a few more years. I love everything but the weight, and the only time that bothers me is after a long days ride and the trails have turn to junk. I'm thinking about adding a ZX2 suspension. Unless Yamaha comes out with a new beast. I think it's coming and soon!!!!!

Seriously guys I'm not paid by AD Bolvin or care about thier well being but the ZX2 is truly faboulus I swear it takes 100lbs off in terms of 'feel'

I fly over bumps, jump all day long, ride 320 miles a day and nothing hurts. It gives you so much confidence you'll be amazed at how much harder and faster you ride with out trying. I have had guys tell me to slow down that use to push me, I have also had guys go off the trail trying to keep up. I think a RX with the ZX2 is truly the best snowmobile you can have and there is a lot of nice stuff out there. I have ridden everything else and this sled with that skid kicks everything else.

Have fun guys!

Keeping hmmmmm

I just picked up my first ton :). Always wanted one. Now I'm gonna mod the s**t out of it.

PIcs to follow soon ;)!

I'm keeping my '03 for life. I have 13800 kms or 8500 miles on it. Like others I've fixed the weak spots, changed the skid and front end, installed a Wildchild rider forward steering relocation kit, an Apex seat, a turbo system. Got her in november 2002 so she turns 6 yo next month.

I finally have her made to my specs, no way I'm gonna sell her with all that money into her.

As you can see in my signature weight is not an issue anymore. I can lift her on one arm in the front, I could hardly do it with both my hands before the diet started.

Keeping mine, got over 5000= miles on it.Burns oil until i run yamaha combustion chamber cleaner in it(last for about 300miles).Getting the shocks rebuilt and will replace the front bushings before the season starts.Front arm of rear skid started to show cracks so i removed it this spring and got it welded with reinforced pieces. Also put new brake pads on it a few weeks ago along with a brake fluid change.Lost the secondary this past winter while drag racing(on/off the gas along with repeated braking=broken secondary).Learned a lesson there.Sled is really good in deep snow and can take the rough trails pretty well but its not for jumping. As long as the motor doesn,t go boom(rare, but can happen) i will keep it.

I have a heavily modded 03 and an 05 with lots of goodies. I have over 13k on the 03 and need another motor but will repair it. The 05 now has 6k on it and is just getting stronger. I bid on an 05 last nitgh with a Hauck drag motor 185 hp and 100hp nitrous on it and lost it with 3 seconds to go at $3,850. I am going to buy another for a backup. I had an Apex and keep and maintain a buddies Attack but none of them are as fast or comfortable as the RX's as far as I am concerned (once you figure them out).

keeping my 04 rx1

just put new jackshaft and drivesahft bearings in a 10,000 kms, new bushings in the front end, they were not even worn out, handles great with the c & a skis, new ohlins rear shock in the back to smooth out the bumps. Runs great start in - 35 C no problem, hits the c note and beyond, will run with any rev or cat out their and you dont choke on 2 stoke oil all the time. just came back from the toronto snowmobile show and dont see any reason to trade or sell. changed the slides at 10,000 kms and they were not even that worn, could have gotten another season out of them for sure. See lots of broken down two strokes( from other manufacturers) in this neck of the woods, I wave at them when I go bye.

Hey rxrider do you have a break down (I know you do :flag: ) of what weight you removed? I'm curious how you took that much off AND added that big honk'n snail in between your legs :-o

Hi kinger - My starting point was not a stock 121" RX-1, but a heavy pig modded 136" RX-1 with a Proaction skid under it, etc etc etc, it was heavy. So removing 40+ kgs or 90+ lbs was fairly easy. Will be back with what I got on weight broken down. PM me and I'll mail you a spread sheet with data on weight savings.

I will keep mine for a long, long time. Great machine, super reliable, fun to ride and fun to mod!!! Unless Yamaha came out with an RX that weighed 400 lbs I'm keeping mine... Plus its a great '2nd' sled to have once you buy another which, by the way, is exactly what I did. RX Warrior and MTX Nytro in the stables now.

I have 2 03's one, mine, with 7000kms and my wifes with 16000kms. Mine has lots of mods and hers we are putting an 05 seat and raising the handlebars. We will both be riding them for a while yet
