How many studs?

I'm getting mixed feedback on how many studs for a LTX running a 1.35 lug. It seems like 50/50 saying either 96 or 144. Is there really enough difference between the 1.25 and 1.35 to consider 96 as a performance number?

This what my dealer did with mine when brand new. I have over 8k on this track and studs with no pulls. The pattern is very staggered and only in Center.

I believe I have 96 it is fine for trails but if looking for performance on ice it is not nearly enough and has cost me a lot of good running on the river last two years. I will be adding 1 more stud every bar in middle and probably do outside also after this weekends UP ride. I will probably remove the outers when not on Ice.

Do you know how many studs total? I have 144 on my 16 DX with a 1.25 and it still gets loose on ice and occasionally on trails if pushing it.

I think we ride a lot alike, with 96 does your arse end want to come around if you roll on full throttle in the apex of a tight turn?

I don’t now the exact number but was told it was the max that they recommended with a angled tip to reduce bearing wear in skid. Yes sometimes it still gets loose in certain conditions but not that often.
Questioned there theory but 8k later.
No pulls, original tri hub bearings, 4th wheel bearings, wheels, hyfax. Only bearings that have been changed at 6k was the upper wheel bearings next to torsion springs.
