How much hp can an stock apex block take?

It's time to blow out mine this season so I have an excuse for sending it to Hurricane LOL. I hope it will hold up on more season at 22 lbs before I tear it completely apart and rebuild it.

great info here guys. thanks. so are you saying 17lbs of boost and a 100 shot would be ok lol. actually have heard that 28psi and shot of juice will lift the heads. for now we stick to the 17psi no problems yet

I've been running a stock Apex block for 2 years now with only my 12mm head stud kit. No sleeves no closed deck. I've made literally 200 dyno pulls and 2 seasons in the field at 30+ lbs of boost and up to 500 HP. NEVER had the head off. Leakage on the worst cylinder is 10% Really I'm amazed at how well these blocks can live, IF you don't detonate them. Let me say that AGAIN. "IF YOU DON'T DETONATE THEM"
Take that as a tip guys DETONATION is what kills them.

I have heard good things from people on the blocks, i do agree the rods are the poor link. When mine threw #1 the cap was mangled but i think the bolt failed first, it broke off clean at the rod not cap, was a clean break. from the bearing (or parts i found) it did not look like it turned, it looked clean and not scored bad. so from my experiences i do feel bolt broke either over torqued or poor material. I wont even go into detail on when they installed the new motor NOT GOOD
