The ski doo 600HO carb or SDI run about equal in a race and arent that fast.. My wifes 500ss REV has whipped every single 600HO its been lined up against including mine. Even if the HO gets the hole shot her 500ss will run it down and pass it ,an RX1 leaves both behind and doesnt look back.

The poster has not responded for awhile now. Like I said early on, BS. I have ran 600, 700, 900. I've never been beat by a green or a yellow sled. Just blue and some red ones. This post is completely BS.
LB- great response by the way, turned the decal over. LOL

This was also the guy who posted his RX1 running 138mph on the dream meter on April 20th, 2005. that being said - under NO conditions would a 600 SDI run close to him that day. It would have been nice to know what top end he got to before he shut her down (may have been a very WARM day and sled not running well at all.
Something fishy about this thread. The RX-1 has been beaten many times, but this doesn't tally up right.

The sled is way detuned from factory, after 2 years of playing, lots of clutching, jetting, carb springs, filters and exhaust,my sled rocks,EATS zr900s and mxz 800s, lots of people think its turboed, not.Dyoned at 178-180 HSPR.

I see that I am getting a lot of attention here. First, I apologize...I feel stupid for typing POO when I should have been typing DOO! That's my fault. Second, again, I promise you this is legit. Some have asked why I waited 14 months to post this. The main reason is that, until two weeks ago, I didn't know TY existed! I found it on a google search and just read the posts for awhile and loved the site, so I became a member. Top end is not an issue in beating the Doo SDI 600...I pull away at about 75. An all-out race and I would kill the thing; but that's beside the point. I am upset that he could hang with me all the way to 75. I can understand not beating him out of the hole, but staying even throughout midrange too? That's why I posted this topic. I may have a slow RX-1 after all. I wouldn't doubt it. However, it's been serviced regularly at a reputable dealer, and that dreaded drive axle bearing has been replaced already. So have some bushings in the skid. Shouldn't be an obvious mechanical problem. I have another post where I write about the inconsistent performance of this sled, so maybe that's an issue that should be brought up in the fall w/ my dealer.
Sorry I didn't respond until now. I was out making $$$ so I can buy an '07 Attak!!

75 isn't all that far up. Top end is where RX1 shines. My second sled is an 87 Exciter, and it takes the holeshot against my RX1. Holeshot is determined by power to weight. Top speed is determined by overall power. Who wins depends on a bunch of factors, particularly how far and in what snow. If you beat him in an all-out race, then you BEAT HIM. To quote a movie... It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile... a win's a win.

I'll say it again; He's way lighter than you and will get the holeshot. My last MachZ was putting out just under 170HP and it was so tempermental on the starting line conditions it made me sick. That damn thing would trench down a foot before it would lunge ahead. My buddies wifes 440 liquid cat would get the holeshot on me most times
Does that mean she wins????
Sounds like your buddy is in your head too much and you simply want to destroy him start to finish.

I have seen 440 snowcross sleds beat 800-1000cc sleds in 660' It is all set up & traction in a short race. You gotta do your homework cus if you are racing a lighter well tuned 2 stroke ; specially in loose snow it will be ugly!

Glad to hear that you and your friend had a few drinks before you went out racing on a public trail. That is what makes Tug Hill area such a special place .

redrx1rkt, If you want some info on what to do then email me. The info I have gathered is too much to post. It may be more than you are willing to do with an '07 in your sights. These sleds are not " set up" out of the box.

Smokey and I have raced several times his 04 RX-1 against my 600 HO (carb) and the sleds are very close to 60 MPH. We often trade races back and forth if they are short. If we race past 60 MPH the his RX-1 starts walking away and does'nt stop.
No shame in losing a short race to a 600 HO if you look at the power to weight ratio they are very close.
Stats from Spring 2005 Snow Sports
2005............................ Wet Weight............................Dyno HP
RX-1 ................................. 630 lbs........................... 138.7 HP
600 HO*............................. 560 lbs ...........................118.5 HP
*with electric start
Sled .............................................330 feet............................. 1/4 mile
RX-1..................................................4.81.................................12.555
600HO...............................................4.946............................... 13.429
So you can see they are very close in a short race but in 1/4 miles there is a full second difference.

Really? My 600 HO has 3000 miles on it and my buddy has a 500ss with 500 miles. I beat him everytime even if he gets me out of the hole I catch him and pass him. Both sleds are 05s stock.

The little 500ss is a very quick sled and has surprising midrange speed, but the vector 05 we had when we were running this past feb. was even with the 500ss until 80 or so than the vector would pull him on top,and our fusions would pull both of them on top and should, but the 500ss is actually the old 600 at 115 hp and the vector is 118-120 but the600ho should spank both vector and 500ss on top,but all this aside i was very surprised at both the vector and 500ss we rented the 500 from uptown variety in St.agatha Me. but your rx1 no matter what year should run all of those sleds down on top end, even the fusion,if its geared and clutched..
