I'm 37 here. Started riding by myself when I was 9 on a '79 Jag 340 fan. Went through many hand-me down Cats over the years and a few of my own. Been on Yamaha since '05 first on an '05 RS Rage and now on a '12 Nytro XTX.

34 now and started at age 6 on a Johnson something or other...it was a teal green with an orange seat, but it had REVERSE! Grandpa told me when I could start it I could ride it. Been Yamaha since '92 with the '83 V-Max 540. The '98 SRX was the first "NICE" sled that I bought when it was 3 years old and the '11 XTX is the first brand new sled.

-Johnson...everything was tired
-Scorpion...blew up
-John Deere Sportfire...blew up
-'83 V-Max 540...wrecked several times then blew up
-'98 Srx 700...traded in
-'03 RX-1...sold
-'04 RX-1...hit a light pole and totalled
-'04 RX Warrior...hit a buried chunk of concrete and totalled
-'11 Apex XTX...Awsome sled!

I remember this kind of thread back when I joined. Things sure have changed. I was a fresh college grad of 23, single and riding my 02 viper just about everyday. Now I am 32, married with 2 little boys and have a Nytro I wish I could ride everyday. Lol. Been on yamahas all my life since I think I was 5 and riding and falling asleep on the handlebars. Lol

The best part about turning 50 (five years ago) was the ability to move from the city to the country (due to job relocation) then buy a home with land that has a groomer access trail….no more roads or trailering for hours…..that's what sold the house….i didn't care about the leaky roof or the broken tap….we had a groomer access trail on our property!!!!
sled every day all winter. Last year we rode until April 19th, should be longer this year with 15 feet of snowfall this season.
I remember the RUPPS from the 70's they were great back then -all four inches of travel:)
What was that sled back in the 70's that had two tracks and a seating position like a car?
Looked like a sled that George jetson would ride??????
Always wanted to try one out....

I thought i replied here before...idk haha

Born -July 1978 and started on a JR 50 at the age of 3 and sleds at 5.

Love every toy i have (and still have) minus 5 or so.. till i die !!

73 years of age here. Started riding Ski-Doo back in 1969 and later on, a Rader and then two John Deer sleds in the 80's and later Polaris in the 90's until 4-stroke sleds arrived. Bought an 05 Vector new and loved this sled from the start. Totally trouble free sled. Would have traded long before now but, keep hearing of rumors of new Yamaha sleds that never happened and suddenly realized I am riding a 9 year old sled that still looks and feels new. After looking at all the new offerings, I guess I will spring for a new Vector and continue riding trouble free at my age.

48 years. been riding Yamaha since 5 years old when I slept in front of my dad on a 1969 sl 396. too many sleds to list. all yamahas.
