so i got the old slides off doing the 'reverse' trick. my new slides are wider than the track window which im sure is normal. what's the best way to get them on? do i widen a window on each side? if so, whats the best method to widen them without damaging or weakening the track?
park brake with track in the correct spot, dish soap, start them in a little sideways, then turn them in the window so they line up, drive them on with a rubber mallet.

also cut aprox. 10" off the old hyfax and you can use it to drive the new one all the way through the track window.

ok this might be a dumb question to some of you but im stuck and need a little help. im changing the slides on a 2007 attack and i removed the front screw on each side on the front of the slides and was able to slide them back about an inch or two which was very hard to do now i cant get them to go any farther i did trim one of the holes in the track for the slides to go through so its not hitting on there any suggestions? should i loosen the track? how do i do that? thanks for any help

peel rear of slider out a window ,put sled on lift and in reverse....it will peel the slider right off.

You don't have to trim the windows, but it shouldn't hurt the track. Spray the window with WD-40, and then with a large flatblade screwdriver and hammer, tap a notch into the side of the existing slider and tap backwards until the slider is pressed against the window with some pressure. At that point you can simply use two additional flat blade scerewdrivers and pry the track windows outward and the slider will protrude. Then tap further until you can grab with a visegrip and pull completely out. When inserting the new hyfax, put them through on their side and rotate to fit through the window and insert onto the guide. With a rubber mallet you can tap the new slider in place. At the end you can use a flatblade for final tapping position.

I always take and trim the front and the back on my sliders to somewhat of a point. That way it is easier to get in and out. I say a point but that is very exagerated. Just take the sides down. Also if you have a big lots or discount store like that near you look in there auto section for a dent puller. (slide hammer with a screw on the end) Picked mine up for like $5 and works great, use a screwdriver to break it loose and then slidehammer to bring it out.

I gave up trying to tap the hyfax back out all the way or pulling with a visgrip. I don't have the strength anymore. Tapping it back just would cut into the hyfax and make a messy job with a chance of damageing the rail.
I did what some say to put it thru the window a little and reverse it and this worked great.
I will try the dent puller next time I change them. Just my luck I'll reverse it too much and the hyfax will wreck my front cooler.

Combined 2 tricks guys on here suggested.
1) After removing the bolt, use a air chisel to get the slides moved back & sticking out of the track window.
(Works super great!)
2) As Dan mentioned, Put sled in reverse, just tap throttle, slides come right off & fall on floor.
It simply doesn't get ANY easier than that!
Have NEVER changed slides that easy in my life! lol
PS Used Polaris slides last time, they have a slightly larger groove in them, should come off even easier, will see.

LOL dont ya love it?.....
funny thing is,whenever i change mine i have needed some other work,so the skid always came out(i still like dropping skid to really see everything)
but we did do this once on a buddies sled,and it works like a charm!
still a pain in #*$&@ installing new ones ect....lol

Lol, get a big deadblow hammer, they go right on.

Usually cut a 10" piece off the old ones to pound that last little bit in/on.

well i uended up using a chisel on the 1 side when vise grips wouldnt pull them off and it took me forever to pull them off felt like they were stuck lol the other side im going to try the reverse method.
