Well, just got myself an Apex. Finally decided to try one after riding an SRX for the last 6 years. So far I love the sled. Fit and finish etc is awesome. I have been reading that there are issues with he hand warmers especially the 06's. I also read that many updated the 06 bars to 07 bars. How can I tell if my sled is updated to the 07 bars? I also read that if you have 06 bars, putting the 07 updated wiring harness will help with the heating issues.

The 07 and newer are one bar with bends on the end. On the 06 bars the bent ends are inserts. I have the 07 harness and 06 bars and have hot hands. There many posts on this if you search.

handle bars
the bars that came on the 06 sleds have a hook on the end that is not heated(separate from the rubber heated grip)the 07 and up bars have the rubber all one piece out to the end of the hook and heated to the end.
i just put the updated bars on my sled and also installed ROCKS WARM HAND CONTROLLER and they now work great. they heat up before the sled is warmed up.
hope this helps

Thanks for the replies, looks like I still have the 06 bars. How does one go about finding the 07 harness update?

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. How does one go about updateing the harness. I've been searching around but can't seem to find anything on this. Can you get the harness update without having to purchase the bars?
KEEP your 06 bars and either get the Yamaheater or 07 harness. I got the Yamahaheater and your hands are extremely WARM with this update.
The 06 bar hooks are not heated but, honestly do you need them to be?
Great sled too!! The engine is awsome!!!

So this will work on an Apex even though it says Phazer?

sub lead
The post I got the p/n from said it works for the 06 Apex bars, same sub lead that came with the "updated" 07 bar kit for the 06.

Great, thanks. If it works that's a cheap fix.

Well, checked with dealer and they say you can't buy just the harness. You need to buy the kit. Also had them run the about part number and it they have no idea what it is. Oh well, I'll worry about it in the fall I guess.
