Hyfax......how many miles have got on a set?

I'm also changing out some idlers for slightly larger ones. It seems this is the only true solution. It worked for my Vector.

I'm sick and tired of changing sliders, just swapped in my third set this season, approx. 1500km.

Run them I changed them every thousand last year. This year said the hell with it and just ride it. I have well over 2500 miles on this set and still counting. They wear real quick then seem to stop. I even had the skid out to put new ones on a week ago and said nope lets see how far these can go.

I am not wearing them beyond the wear line, which is where they were at. By installing a wheel that is 5mm larger in diameter, I will gain 2.5mm of my sliders back.

Riding in Eastern Ontario hard and icy conditions KILL SLIDERS!! :die

Badly worn at 1800miles on a mtx with 1.75'' lug also have ice scratchers.

I've got 2800 miles on original hyfax. I do have oversize wheels and hyfax seems to have stabilized.

I have 1400 miles on my originals & they are at least 80% yet.

However, I do have 2 marginal wheel kits on my rails. One at front (rail bend) and one at the 2nd set of rear holes. The only place they are even showing any slight wear is in the center/rear, between the stock center idlers & my marginal kit at the back.

A little extra money up front for either wheel kits or scratchers goes a LONG,LONG way in preventing the consumption of hyfax that the new Yamahas are well known for.

2300 miles so far. But on my last ride the right slider went from 16mm to around 12mm and i could smell the burnt plastic. Trails were hard and i was riding hard.
I am very pleased with the way my sliders are holding up since i have a 1,75" track.

1600 km
very little wear. Only twice have I smelled them burn. i was very aware to hit the powder on the trail when I first had it.
Since that time I don't go looking powder to cool them off as much.
Still in good shape

Did any of you guys put marginal wheels on?

Daranello, with the trails you have in canada and the sustained high speed the marginal wheels will fly right off your sled, at 90mph those wheels are spinning about 10000000rpm, bearings dont last.

Now at 4000 kilometers (2486 miles) and still couple of millimeters left. With Back Country 1.75" and idler wheels removed due to a space consuming center shock. Damn. I must be doing something wrong, this sled is supposed to be a hyfax muncher...???
