I don't get a lot of chances to race sleds out of our group. Today I run into a group that had two sleds on my list to race. First was a stock 09 Nytro. I have heard how quick these sleds are and wanted to run one. Well it was no race at all. He jumped me a sled but I drove by him by 30-40 mph and pulled hard on him. I was surprised, but I know that you can do a lot to wake a Nytro up. Second was a 2010 Crossfire 800HO. Long (136?)and deep lug track. He jump a sled and I run him down just after the mid range, and drove by and at a good pace. Second race on the way back I let him him hit it first and he got out 3 sleds. I took me about an 1/8 mile to run him down. I think the sled needed a little heat in the pipe to wake it up. Pretty surprised the old RX1 could beat the crossfire. I have heard how strong the 800 cats are and didn't think I had a chance.

My buddy has an rx1 and that thing is not much slower then my new apex xtx. Maybe 2 to 3 sleds difference. i was very surprised.

I would love to run a XTX. Next on my list.
Have any of you guys run a Crossfire 800HO? This one was stock other than a can.

Well guys, when I posted this last year I mentioned that I would love to run a Apex XTX . Little did I know that my riding buddy was going to buy one this year. He has a sweet 03 RX1 w/CPR Turbo and Expert X suspension. His RX1 is in perfect condition and has been very reliable but he is ready for a stock sled. I can't wait for him to get some miles on his so we can have some fun and run our sleds. The problem with the turbo was we never seem to run into any other turbos, and no body wants to run a turbo w/a n/a engine. So he was always sitting on the side watching us have fun
Does any body have any miles on a 12 Apex? How about you guys that bought the 2011. Are you happy with them?
Here is a pic of his RX1 that is for sale.
It has low comp pistons.
Thanks

My neighbor has a 08 or 09 Cat Crossfire. Has a 1.25" lug Rip Saw track, which came stock. The rest of his sled is stock too. I could take him up until I ran out of legs with my Mt Viper. He get a 1 to 2 sled jump ahead from the start when im on my Attak GT, but then the Attak pulls ahead and will pull away. Once that happens he always quits, so by what measure I'd win is tough.

My old RX1 with filters and ecp kit ( Sorty) has alot more top end pull than my current apex LTX. I raced a 800 doo with the RX1 and in a long race I would win, in short less than 2000 ft he would take me. I raced 900 fusion not stock and 800 HO cat and ate up the poo but the cat and my apex were pretty close up to 2000ft than I would start to pull past some. The bottom line is RXs can be as fast or faster than newer apex, but it is still all in the set up.
Pound for pound under 2000 ft I will take a good set up SRX over either!
