I posted it on here last year, I hit a burried safe with my spindle while I was on one ski in the powder..it didn't bend the a-arms or anything but it did put a nice gouge in the spindle and bent the subframe which made it look like everything else was bent. What I did was contact yamaha and tell them what happened and they warrantied the subframe. I believe it would cost you nearly $1,000 us with labor. No need to call the ins. company just call yamaha and see what they have to say. They will work with you if there are no other obvious damages but the frame. They paid for the sub-frame and labor. Good luck
Expect I am not under a warranty,So There is no way they will cover it

Well Gall darn it 2008 Nytro RTX, I think you should just cut your losses and get the Doo. I mean, despite all of the examples of how to fix, it seems with you there is just no way possible to fix it.....

At least your dad is smart enough to let you take the Doo whilst he holds onto the real sled in the garage..........

I'd like to hear less bitching out of you and more fixing. Now make a plan and get to work fixing that subframe!

See if you knew what you were talking about you would know I already have someone who is going to tear it down with me in October or November. ;)! So where you get that I said there is no possible way for it to be fixed is just you not making any sense. Stop jumping to conclusions when you don't know what's going on in PMs. Yamaha won't pick this up ill bet my life on it.

Well RTX, in all my years I still haven't learned to determine the future or read minds. I can only go by the information I'm given, in this case by you.

You were asking for a pic by pic thread of how to fix and asking who could fix. You also have another thread, of about the quality of this one, where you proclaim you are buying a Ski Doo and giving your Nytro to your dad.

I think it's a great move getting your Nytro fixed. Further I think you probably could have managed it your self, with help from the fine people of this site.

I'm cuirous about how many miles are on your bent up Nytro; do you think it's just worn out?
Not sure what does how many miles I ride MY sled that I paid for have to do with getting it FIXED? I love you guys who have the balls to worry about how many miles I put on my sled,Who are you to say anything about the miles I put on it? Its my damn sled,If I put 500-800 miles on it a year thats my business and it should not interest you in anyway

Joe,

Obviously you have a passion for the sport and that's a good thing but you shouldn't let that passion fog your reason. Clearly you misread my question or, perhaps it's just a sensitive topic and your reactions got the best of you. I merely asked if your sled could be worn out. Implying that high mileage may be contributing to the problems you’re having with the Nytro.

One reason I am curious about the mileage is that on February 6, 2010 you told us that you had 1000 "trouble free" miles logged on your sled. But just 6-days earlier you responded in another thread that you had 2970 miles on it. Either way, periodic maintenance, which seems to challenge you, may be missing and a factor in this current issue. Your best course of action may be to load the Nytro up and haul it in to the nearest dealer before you hand it over to your dad or sell it.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I am sure basic maintenance can not stop something from bending,How do you maintain a subframe? Nothing is rusted and I road it normally. Not selling the sled,I am not getting the Doo because it's bent. I am getting the Doo well trying to get the Doo because I think its the best sled out on the market right now. Like I said,I like my Nytro and if I get the Doo ill be able to ride it anytime I want. So it's not even getting rid of it. Periodic maintenance is not a problem,I change my oil and filter and the rest of the fluids. I don't check my sled after every ride if there was nothing that went wrong. it doesn't bother me I don't put huge miles on,Last time I checked thats nothing to be ashamed of. How does a subframe ware out?

hitting things wears the $hit out of a sled. Its the oldest story in the book to blame the machine for your mistakes. I'm in the business and hear it all day long. "well, it was just one rock, and I tried to move it, so its not my fault" the doo will be the same but worse

You don't ride with me dude,I hit 1 rock 2 years ago. When I hit it I jumped off of my sled,The subframe was not bent. This was bent from something else and I never hit anything that could of did it. Not that I have to explain anything to you,I just would like you not to say my mistake. Because my "mistake" never bent it.
