If Yamaha ceased production of sleds...What would you buy?

Sorry to correct you Captain,

Elite has a 4 TEC 1500 cc motor in it. Puts out 145 hp.
Hey, no problem buddy! ;)! Im far from being an expert on Doos. I knew they used that V-1000 motor in some of their touring sleds but I wasnt aware the Elite used a different motor.
I sat in an Elite once, its kind of a cool setup. Its got pedals in it like a car but its got a steering wheel that looks like its out of an airplane. Id bet they are pretty torquey too, although I doubt you'd be able to go much faster than 60 mph in one.
Seriously though, if Yamaha made a snowmobile that was like the Elite which used the Vector motor Id consider one.
I always felt bad when my family and I would go out riding and our dogs always have to stay home. I know the black lab that I used to have would love to go along with me like that. She used to love riding in my truck, Im sure shed love something like an Elite.
Hmmm, HEY YAMAHA, I KNOW YOU READ THESE FORUMS SO GET TO WORK MAKING SOMETHING LIKE THE SKI-DOO ELITE. You guys could use the Rhino chassis (adapted to use skis and twin tracks of course), the Vector motor and maybe throw 2 Attak skids under the back of it. Id bet having twin Monoshock rear suspension under your butt would make for a plush ride. ;)!

Nothing till someone builds something other than twins. Tripples or four bangers two stroke or four. 1000cc's or more.

Last thing I need is a twin with jam can sized pistons in it. Cat lost me when they stopped building 1000 tripples. I want smooth power, not paint shaker power.

I used to own a '99 Polaris 700 XC SP and the vibration on that wasnt really all that bad. It was certainly nowhere near as bad as the 900 Fusion I rode this past winter.
Doo has been able to greatly reduce the vibration on the Mach Z by using a counterbalancer.
I personally wouldnt want another 2-stroke. After riding the RS Vector and then going back to my 600 XC you cant even compare the 2 engines. The Vector's engine is so nice that I have no doubt in my mind that if I were buying a new sled this year that would be the only sled I would buy. The Apex/Attak are nice, but you could never use all of the power that the Apex has on the trails I ride.
Id like to see the Vector get EFI for '07. The current Vector GT with EFI would be the perfect snowmobile, in my opinion.

They changed rings, pistons and pots on the 600 HOs for 05 and seemed to have solved the ring flaking problem. I put 3069 Miles on mine this year and it ran great! I love the sled
Doo still had problems with SDI engines on the '05s. Many people on HCS had problems with their '05 SDIs.

Yup you're right. Mine is a carb....

I would maybe go Rev MXZ 600 X SDI in black or F-6 snowpro in orange. Then I would maybe join amsnow or Hardcoresledder.com and live on the computer all winter. lol
With my Pentium 4 and maxed out ram, I think I would do well internet racing :drink:

if i had to make that very unfortunate decision....i would give Ski-Doo another shot.
i had an MXZ 600 and it was a great sled.....never had a problem.

But why such a goofy question??
like Yamaha would ever quit and abandon us!!! :ORC

I'm leaving for the dark-side next year. Should never have gone for a test-ride... I'm hooked!

Hope you don't mind me popping in here every now and then. Still has a few nice memories of my 04 Warrior and my 05 RS Venture TF, just got a too good of a deal on the Lynx... ;)!
