Went to start the phazer to take the kids for a ride the other day. Turned key to on and let the fuel pump whirl up. Turned to start and nothing - not even a click. Turned back to off and tried again - still nothing. Third try started right up. Weird but it started so didn;t think much of it. Yesterday the same things happened - any ideas what to check? Just makes me nervous that it eventually won't start. I assume the starter failure some of you are seeing at least the starter will spin, right?

I suspect it is your starter relay. Next time it happens try jumping the starter cables located down by the electrical components next to the battery. If it spins over when you jump it I would replace the relay. I believe there was a thread on this last year so you might find it with a search. Mine did this when it was cold. Once it started it was good for the day.

this happened to me last year,it would take several attempts for the starter to turn, the problem was my starter relay was frozen,we had been riding in 12''of loose snow for 150 miles,on the trail, when i opened up the side cover, there was snow & ice everywhere and on top of the relays,i cleared it off and it took a while but everything went back to normal
