Try installing the red hc spring when the clutch is on the crank!!!!!!

If you aren't an old dude it's easy LOL

Quick question did you put the cover back on with the X's lined up? There is an X on the inside of the Clutch cover and one on the spider. This is for Balance.

I didn't make it as far as pulling the clutch cover off. I couldn't get the clutch to break free... I was putting all of my weight on it (200lbs) and don't think I want to risk more torque. I envision the clutch puller bolt head in the socket and the puller in the center bolt location. Anyway, I was going to take the whole clutch off and bring it inside and work on it. I think i'm going to try it without pulling the clutch and when its all said and done trying the secondary bolt to pull the cover back on tomorrow when its a little warmer out. Blue liquid-tite on all the bolts when its all said and done right?

Do you have a metal bar that will slip over the end of your ratchet? If so you can put more torque on it because of the longer leverage point. remember these are pressed on so it takes a lot to pop them off!!.

I use a Impact to pop mine off

I just don't dare to push it any further... and it seems like it will be just as easy to leave it on. At least i'm going to try that first. That's how ulmers directions say to do it to... although they don't say how to compress this huge spring so hopefully using the bolt off the secondary and a few washers will do the trick.

Dude trust me it's fine it is pressed on very hard. that's the way it's designed.

for the tougher (older longer been on ones) use two to three tablespoons worth...increases the hydraulic effect..

Okay... gave her heck, added some grease. Twisted until crazily tight... then beat the bolt with a 30 lb rubber mallet. No give... tried turning it more and started to get really freaked out... luckily pulled the puller when I did. The last 4 inches of the puller started twisting and twisted up like cyclone. Waste of $40... or I'm not doing something right. Only 500m on this clutch... anway pulled apart the clutch while on the machine then it started pouring so I will finish it tomo.

I just got one off that was allmost fused to the crank. Tried freezing/oil/grease...took nuclear heat & it popped off. happened on 2 different sleds i worked on & heat was the only thing that worked.

Man... well I am hoping using the secondary bolt with washers idea works for compressing the red spring.
