i had the SledStart kit on my vector and loved it. These lights are so bright they go farther than the lights of the sled in front of me. It's a great upgrade for sure. So I wanted to do the same to the new viper. It is mostly plug and play, but the instructions aren't completely right for this sled. If you do any DIY you'll figure it out just fine. For example, the instructions say you only use one of the existing headlight plugs, but in fact you need both.
If you plan to do this, know that there is very little room to work. If you have a friend who is a gynecologist, ask them to help. They are used to working in small spaces and that's how this is.
It took about an hour to complete. You don't need to remove the hood for this work, but you do need a good, small light and small hands are helpful. I secured the ballad to the posts that hold the lower hood cover in place. And I tucked the wires way in the front of the cavity in front. It all fit and did not block the space needed for the goggle bag.
All done, the lights work perfectly and the light output is awesome!

I pulled the hood and took off the top dash then removed the headlight housing. More work, but less fidgeting and allowed me to mount the ballasts using sticky tape. I have the Yamaha "goggle" bag so I needed to keep the center area clear.

That's where I mounted my Ballasts also TD. Perfect spot.

That makes a lot of sense. I couldn't seem to figure out how to get those two pieces apart.
