That has no issues and thinks these are the best sleds ever built?
I haven't ridden my sled yet and am already depressed with all the posts about hand warmers and other issues..... I came from a 05 that had nothing but problems and dished out almost $4000.00 to get the GT.
Am I the only one?
Anyone?

I'll live with the minor (IMHO) inconveniences with Yamaha as long as I don't get stranded like I'm reading other manufacturers are doing to their customers :ORC

I have never been more excited by a new sled, or more optimistic.
They have exceeded my expectations.
Yes there is a glitch, and on a -25F degree day it may feel like a bad one.
But if you are prepared for it, not that big of a deal.
Warmer gloves, those heating packets should be in your storage area, just in case.
Yamaha I'm pretty sure will fix it. We are only 8 days into knowing handgrips are a problem.

So far it has exceeded my expectations. I absolutley love the looks of my GT, I only have 30 miles on so far, so I can't give a proper description of it's sure power and handling, but everything seems to be in place, except for that hand warmer deal.

Yammimoose I just sold my 05 on Tuesday and I wouldn't say I had alot of problems. But I did have to add a rear heat exchanger, change the antifreeze mix, add fuel shut offs, and replace the 05 rear suspension components to 06 parts. All of these are things I felt Yamaha should have done at the factory. Now I pick up my GT tomorrow. I am excited, and will just ride it to form my own opinion. I have some concerns that I will have to do a bunch of stuff on my own that Yamaha should have taken care of. Here is the part that bugs me. If I get a cut I bleed Yamaha blue! I always engage in the friendly banter in the bars/restraunts etc.. with friends and others about the quality of my Yamaha as compared to their 2 smokes. I just hate it when they have any ammo against me that is true. I'm sure my brother-in-law who I knick named Skippy Skidooo will get on this board or others and read all of this. I will have no defense for Yamaha other than they will take care of it. I hope i'm not telling a lie!

LOL!! Don't you just hate it when your friends have AMMO!!! I know the feeling........I get ribbed ALL the time about my Yamaha preference. At least this is just HAND WARMERS...and not rear skids, smoked motors, exploding secondary clutches, etc, etc....

Whilst this site is a tremendous resource with lots of great information, what is considered a problem by one person is not necessarily a problem for all. I remember several years ago when many members were bashing the suspension on the 03 RX-1. I had come off a Viper and I was seriously considering upgrading my RX-1 suspension to an M-10 after reading the posts. Then I realised that I really liked the suspension on the 03 RX-1 as it was, and just added skis. I am still happy with that sled and it still has the 1" track.
The point is, use the information from this site as a guide towards tuning the sled to meet your needs. What is a "must" for one member is not necessarily for all members.

Not happy with the handwarmers but our 05 RX1s were the best sleds I ever owned until we got the 06 attaks. I would not go back to the RX1 even if they never get the hand warmers as hot as the 05s.
At this point, (60 miles) I have zero complaints my '06 Attak. I'm one of the few that feel the hand warmers work adequate.

I love my '06 Attak, put on close to 100 miles this past Sunday and looking forward to this weekend!! I too am one of the few that feel the hand warmers work ok and other than adding the heavier spring for my fat butt it is a great great sled!!! I work in customer service and no matter what you do or how much a person pays there are always some that are upset!! ENJOY!

Last year the Rev Guys were all looking for rings....Thats down time. Sled is in shop motor apart can"t ride. Now handwarmers are an inconvience but no down time. So lets just ride and enjoy it!

These guys are all correct. We are posting items on this site to make others aware of the current problems. Or inconveniences, I am sure since this is the pre-eminent site for Yamaha feedback that big blue is watching. having said that I have 125 miles on my RTX and am in love. New windshield was $84 dollars and I have to ride with my Yamagloves with liners VS the mechanics gloves I rode with on the RX-1 big deal. I now have a sled that kicks on the straights, jumps like a deer and leaves all my buddies in the dust when we get to the 3' whoopty doos. The leap that was taken to get to this stage is incredible and if all i have to deal with is gloves I'll gladly take it.
Furthermore if they got it 100% right we would have nothing to talk about and we would all get tired of 30 post a day saying this sooooo gooooood and there would be no reason for a 2007 GT-x except for the turboed 215hp moptor, vicous coupling drive, laser headlights grenade launcher and built in DVD for the kids riding in the back.
Just my $1.23 worth have a nice day.
