Jan 10th TY 500 sign up

I'd love to get involved, but it may be a last minute decision to go, but I'll try. If we're going to backpack with Familyman, Viper_Dave,etc.., I won't be doing this trip with the wife. I'll have to plan for 2 trips this year, and we're still looking to go to S. Dakota in Feb.
That's a big 'ol MAYBE for me!!!

Does anyone remember the number of miles you rode?Where did you stay at(do you need reservations).How long did it take to get from Munising back to land-o-lakes.Thanks Shane

We have never done the 500 before. Last year we rode from lando to mass city, from mass city to ishpeming, and then to muni. On the last day from muni to Lando it was 246 miles. We had no reservations at all, just got lucky I quess. Maxdlx

Checked with the guys, I think ther'll be 3 of us for sure, and a 4th will be deciding last minute.
We're probably going to go to Mercer on Monday sometime, and meet up with you guys @ Lando on Wed. morning.
So in all, we'll probably end up with alot more than 500 miles!
I think we'll try to leave our vehicle(s) in Mercer with a person we know up there.

500 miles in a single 24 hr. period. (ex: 7:00 am thursday to 7:00am Friday) Not 500 miles over a couple of days.

It's actually 500 over a few days. Not that it couldn't be done, but boy would you be sore!

246 to muni, 246 back. 2 days between, and one day 500 miles schedule and thats friday. So thats a min of 1000 miles. Last year even with the issues we had with sleds the first day. I had over 800 miles for the 4 days, because we really only road 3 days..

Its going to be a 1200+ short week..imo.

Nate fyi....landolakes at the gas station around 9:30 Wed. Not sure if muni will be the next stop Wed...but will be there Friday for the 500 miler im sure. I think a few off us will ride out Friday Morning a.m. and return that night and have 500 miles on in ONE DAY.

I dont plan on racing all over the u.p. all week, but do plan on keeping the sled moving unless I need to eat, sleep or get gas... Thats why my group is going......TO RIDE, LAUGH AND HAVE A SAFE WEEK!

I'll pass the info along, and we'll se you there! I'm sure we'll talk before then, but I'd like to make sure we have a room avail., if you have already covered that somewhere. I think I saw a post somewhere here already for the guys to jump in on hotel space in muni.?? Should I be talking to somebody about this??

Spoke with a couple of the guys tonight, and they are good with meeting up, but I think they want a little more R&R that doing a 1200 mile trip. We'll probably do something like ride to Muni with you guys, but probably not take the plunge on the 500.
My buddy Eric rides and F7 and he would be bitching the whole way that his kidneys are bruised!
We've got some time yet, I'll see what they want to do for sure, but we'll be up there regardless.

Getting closer. How many people do we have? Motel picked for starting point? I am planning on being there Thursday night. Could use someone to split a room with. I have trailer space available from Houghton Lake as well.
