My setup is all around trail riding with the rough trails included. 220lb rider
Qs3 shocks front and rear with standard hpg center shock.
Front shocks set on 2 or medium with hygear dual rate springs with 1/2" of preload on springs.
Center shock with cat 160/260 spring with little preload. Front limiter strap in 3rd hole.
Rear shock set on 3 or firm and rear torsion springs on medium.
Racewerx adjustable coupler set on 2.
The center spring with the preload makes a difference in setup right down to 1/2 to 1 full turn to find that ideal feel.
Don't forget that fresh oil in your shocks is grand!

A couple of things
-weight should be fully dressed
-the front of the skid should touch at the same time as the rear of the kid
My straps have no holes but I'm probably going to need to pull them in about an inch
I have that stingray spring I would like to try.

has anyone ever scaled their sled to see the side-to-side weight distribution? Also, to measure exactly HOW much weight is moved front to rear by the front shock spring and/or strap? I may try it out of curiosity this fall.
I know testing and adjusting is the way to get the feel and ride you want but to put actual numbers to them would be interesting.

Ok last season this was my set up and worked great, aside from exit shocks suck so now I have that fixed.
2018 sidewinder rtx se
I was extra husky last 2 winters. Inranged between 315-330 before gear. Which I don’t dress extra heavy gear or lots of layers, I’ve always ridden from a 90* bend at knees to up on bars position too and at 6’5” it may change my weight bias a bit from others.
-.437 22.5lb/in rear torsion springs.
-Much stiffer center shock valving
-Dual center spring set to 2 turns (1/8”) preload
-straps pulled up 2 holes (third from full loose)
-Hygear axis front shocks, had 150lb main spring, I had 175 I was going to try thinking that will help a lot as it seemed nose heavy with 150 once compression and rebound were set.
-I run c&a xcs skis with 9.5” shapers.
-205 mix of 1.63” triggers and chisels
—4trigger,3trigger 2 chisel, 4 trigger so on.
For this year I had Ian at monster get me elka stage 4’s all around. Elka sent them with 175 main spring (their specs I didn’t mention my theory or desire) and I like the bypass jet feeling, we will see how it goes. Also noticed they sit into tender spring on front much more so they have a lot of droop/sag and hit cross over little faster for flatter handling and better in big whooped out areas. We will see! Fingers crossed. I did hope for larger body shocks tho but I knew elka and custom made stuff would have added ton to lead time and cost and I don’t feel it would have been that significant.

I haven’t. I have been wanting to tho like you said just for a baseline idea. I like how accelerated tech actually uses 4 dollys to set sleds and sag.has anyone ever scaled their sled to see the side-to-side weight distribution? Going out the door I set my 22Tcat EPS up as follows:This thread is for trail riding suspension set up that each person likes for their riding style.
Up front - Stock shocks with the larger sway bar.
Rear front - Stingray spring/stock shock, upgraded upper mount bar, upgraded lower shock mount bar
Rear rear - Stock shock, transfer blocks removed, mount bar left in place.
Most of these changes are similar to a cross country sled set up.
Also running 5 studs per bar in the stock track, stock gearing and nine inch dual shaper carbides upfront.
I prefer my sled uncoupled. As I ride the sled, I will see how I like the front springs. After break in, I will decide on tune and clutching.

What larger sway bar?
The Cross Country race sleds use the 14.7mm variety. This is one I have using for years. Be sure to order the bushing kit as well.

I have never broke one and I ride pretty hard through the rough stuff. But I do know guys that could break an anvil. LOLDo the heavier sway bars break just as easy as the stock ones do?
