did you drill out your balancing rivet in the middle ring or not have one?

I did not have one. I remember you posting that you where thinking about removing it and was like "huh?".
If you look at my picture compared to yours (other than the difference in cleanliness) you will see mine had one additional rivet in the center circle than yours as a balancing weight. What did you get for weights?

Yea, not sure why mine did not have one. I bought it new, so it must have come that way. I do not have a great scale, so I did not bother to weigh it after I saw your guys posts.

Hey Guys:
Here's my incarnation. My 11 mtx has the balancing weight, and the one I picked up doesn't. Probably luck of the "dynamic balancing" draw.
Rlcofmn, thanks for the drill setup. 20 minutes and they were gone.
As you can see from the photo, I am still a couple of days away from riding.....LOL.
Oh yeah, I'll get before/after weights once I pick up the scale from work. I'll compare the stock 11 mtx disk with the one I drilled out.

any updates on how the brake rotors are doing?

YY:
600km's and no issues. Not exactly a long term test, but the brake works, well....like a brake. Weight off is about a pound if I remember correctly.
I am not a big brake user and no serious topo here. Maybe if you we a hard brake user on mountian decents, it might make a difference. Nikolai and Beeze are both without fins so I'm sure they'll chime in too.
No plans to put my original (with fins) back on.

I have about 800k on mine, same as OTM, not a big brake user. Checked it over this fall when she was apart and looks to be good.

Mine was already warped when I removed the cooling fins so I can't give accurate feedback, only that it didn't seem to get worse. I do have a brand new rotor this year though so I'll report back after some miles are on it.

Mine is fine.

I like the cat brake lever idea. What about using the lever and master from a newer crossfire or m series that also has the hi beam switch integrated into the lever? (push it forward to get hi low beam toggle) move the handlebar warmer switch to a switch on the console and loose even more weight! The whole big blue button and assembly could be removed off the bars. Not to mention all the wiring that wouldn't have to go to the bars now.

You mean like this?
Just finished it up at 2:00am last night. CR Racing bars/throttle , RSI Risers/Heaters and Heat Demon Controller...bye bye Yami ECU limiting POS grip heaters.
Have Beeze's Arctic Cat brake conversion and got the brake lever high/low working. Took a bit of soldering, but otherwise not bad.
Overall, it took quite a bit of work to grip heaters properly wired in with the resistors in place to keep the ECU happy. I'm pretty sure this mod shed about 3 lbs

Anyone have any experience with the Heat Demon on their ATV? Durable or not?
