Got the chance yesterday at the local snow show to look over an 2008 Phazer up on the lift. A couple changes that I noted...
(1) Inner guide wheels updated to what appears to the '03 Viper. Wonder if they will reimburse 2007 owners that completed this on their own dime/time? Observed a friend of mines 2007 he had at the event for sale, warped inners as usual...he was unaware.
(2) Support tab welded in for the rear flap drop down tube.
(3) Standard side shields...that don't look like an after thought. Wonder if these fit the 2007's?
(4) There is a support bracket of some type about 1/4 into the rear cut out that goes from the tunnel to the seat. Couldn't get a real good look at it, seemed to me the seat tubing was changed somewhat to accomodate this update...not sure.
This was the RTX, has the Fox floats on the front. I did not take off the panels, I would expect to see a fan on the radiator. I should have brought a camera to compare the front rear suspension arm.
The outer guide wheels seemed to be the same as before, mine warped...took a little longer than the inners, under 900 miles.

Did the RTX you saw also have the Billet linkage for rear suspension like one I saw?
Was told those plastic tunnel blockoffs will fit the rear but not front of the 07's.

The 08`s have the billet linkage. and a fan too.

osceolacabin-- Are you talking about the front inner wheels that are made out of plastic with the 3 holes in them ??

Yes...very common from what I've seen. If Yamaha is not covering the change to beefer wheel, just pay the cash for some '03 Viper wheels...go home and grind the spacer to fit the new wheels (take some length off, very little).
My outer wheels also warped up toward the end of last season...not one stud in the outer track, Yamaha picked up that replacement. They'll be picking it up again...

Will some off of an RX1 skid work?? Thanx for the response.

I do not know, just check the measurements. They should IMO...
