Prior to our riding season this year. My wife and I have decided to invest in safety equipment. We will be looking to purchase body armor and I would appreciate any input or advice as to brand preferences and why. Additionally we will be purchasing the LED lighting system for the left side front of our sleds. The third piece of safety equipment I am looking for is a device I read about last winter in a magazine. It was still in development at the time and I have not heard anything about it since. It is a type of motion sensor that can alert the sled/atv driver of a potential obstacle ahead such as an oncoming sled or a deer or human being long befor is is seen. It detects the heat variance from a vehicle or being from it's surroundings in order to identify the potential obstacle. I am wondering if anyone has information on the cost and availability of this item?
Thanks in advance of your responses!

I use the Tek Vest ISR legal version, not that I race, but I do ride on the edge from time to time. When I went to purchase my vest I wanted the trail version, but was told the zipper on the front limited the chest protection. I also wanted the shoulder pads. I am very happy with my vest, and will not ride without it.

Does anyone know of any deals on tech vests? Where did you get yours Mongo?
I picked it up in Syracuse at the snow show. I see your going in October, if you have not gone before your in for a treat.
Very good deals on almost everything. My vest was $350., but it was last years model, so I picked it up for $250. Bring money.
P.S. LIfe time member huh.

I wanted the long sleeve shirt, the hat, and the stickers.
I also feel that I have already gained more than the cost of the membership just in information. I don't have a problem kicking in when I know I will get it back

I know what you mean. I really need to get my membership, I want the hat.

Thanks for your thoughts!
I am thinking about the "Trail Pro". It seems to be a good comprimise of everything. Here is a link: http://gobigparts.com/
Anyone have a clue as to the availability of the motion detecter device??
Like my Tek Vest Super Sport. Not hard-core protection but very comfy and offers a heckuva lot more protection than going without. Got a steal at a snow-show in Milwaukee a few years back.
