- 2018 sidewinder btx se
I have the 2017 sidewinder btx 153 with the 1.75 track. I’m from Michigan and I am going out west (Island Park Idaho) this year for the first time and trying to find out some information on getting my sled ready for a great time.
My sled is all stock.
I would like to put a 2.5 inch track on it and I was wondering if I need to change the gearing or drivers?
Also I was wondering if I need to do anything with my clutching for out there and the 2.5 inch track. Thank you for any info you guys may have to help

Run the 2.6 Cat Power Claw track and you can use same driver. This is an amazing track on these sleds........
I think gearing should be ok but cats are geared a bit lower. Other than that set skis at narrow width soften up front shocks and let it rip.
You should be consistent enough on power to run current clutching for one trip. If you want all you can get setting it up properly for elevation you will be in would be best.
In the past we have run our Michigan flatland clutching all the way to 9000 feet and have been ok with these turbo sleds.

Your 1.750 Track will work. We have run 141 x 1.6 tracks out there and they were ok. The 2.6 will be way better but again if its just a one time trip a 1.750 will work ok.

I ran a btx out in cooke city mt last year I put a 2.6 powerclaw with stock clutching and drivers. I changed the bottom sprocket to a 49 tooth instead of a 41 which is stock I believe. Not sure if it was necessary. Only problem with running stock clutching is if you wanted to take off out of a hole your turbo wasn't spooling so you didn't have all your power when you wanted it.
