I have a 2008 apex. Lately its been down about 1000rpms ,all i noticed was that the bushing on the prinary clutch cover is showing wear. Could this be the problem? Thanks for any help.

rpms

Hi superb its funny u talk about your rpms down so are mine this years for some reason mine runs about 10,000 to 10,200 at wot and thats it whats yours show at wot .........

Would you be burning HIGH octane gas make sure to ONLY use 87 no higher or you will lose some RPM'S and buildup carbon big time!...unless your MODIFIED, the other thing to check is your clutches keep them nice and clean check for any wear on ramps on primary and shoes on secondary, check your air box boots to throtle bodies to make sure their sealing properly and also clean your air filter and make you have no snow or ice build-up, go to CARQUEST and get a can of SEAFOAM and drop 1/2 a can in your gas tank as a SHOCK treatment to clean injectors and remove any carbon out of the intake and afterwards put a couple of onces per tank for preventive maintenance...I have a '08 APEX LTX with 8500kms and pulling strong 10.800 to 11.000rpm's bone stock!

Had the same problem with my 04 RX1. RPM dropped about a 1000 RPM. Tried everything, changed clutch springs, rollers, secondary bushings. Final cure was the primary bushings and they didn't seem that bad, changed them problem solved.

Ive serviced a few primary's that had a tremendous amount of belt dust built up in the towers..would barely move after removing the spring etc....the slider pucks were binding...after cleaning the moveable moved like silk..

also check your secondary ramps etc...make sure belt is in spec..
