Ran a bit in the field yestserday with the GT at lost pines near cadillac. The competition included a 780 Viper, a Flannery 180 hp Polaris, a built F9, and a few Mach z's and F7's that i have no idea what was done to them. Running in the field about 1000-1200', the Mach z's and F7's were no where to be seen, and the Apex was right in the mix with the big polaris and the 780. Granted if we ran from a dead stop on a hard pack road, i am pretty sure i would get demolished by these big HP sleds, but not in snow! I should also mention that the 780 was getting a new expert x suspension dialed, so he was a bit slower than ususal. Either way, i was glad just to be in the same neighborhood as some of these big boys, and was thrilled to look to the side at the end of the field and not see any mach's or F7's! All this with a stock apex, WAY TO GO YAMAHA!

Yamahas like hard pack and ice covered roads much better than in snow.

I won't disagree with you on that, but the yamahas don't like the hardpack nearly as much as some of those high HP sleds that were out there satruday, set up specifically to run on it. Yamahas like it, but to run well on it, you need to be set up for it also - lots of studs, and lots of transfer.

If you run on the road in front of lost pines. The DNR tries to be tricky and hides about 1/4 mile down the road. Then they write tickets, tickets , tickets. Before you line em up. Have a buddy go down and see if they are low riding before you start.
