I have a 06 apex gt with m-20 diamond airwave...I am thinking of getting rid of it and trying something else.....
Was wondering what people thought of different suspension or going back stock....I had electronic suspension in and kept ripping wire out and bottoming........
I love the airwave but they say you lose 10mph top end.....My buddy's aare beating me top end......
I sold my electronic stock skid, hope i didn't make a big mistake if there is something i could of did to it.......Thanks.... :o|

You have two options IMO:

#1 if you had the mono you could do a beef up kit, and powdercoat to beef it up, then a fox mega float or the Bjowett Ohlins spring and PDS upgrade to the shock and it will ride good, not great.

#2 ZX2 aftermarket suspension is a animal and I absolutely love it. No maint, takes g hits like they are little bumps, only complaint is in the long stutters it can rattle your teeth a little bit, but new shocks valving is being tested to help with that by members on this board me included, from hygear.

The mono if you had that to upgrade everything your probably in the $800-1000 range.

The ZX2 is around $2K if I remember right. A LOT of money BUT you can take ti with you to the next sled, and the money you save in maint and headaches might be worth it.

M20 is the king of crusing on a trail, Fast will disagree but they are not a performance suspension. The ExpertX or ZX2 are they completely change how the sleds performs on the trail. Selling the M20 would pay for either the ZX2 or expertX.

I'm from Rochester originally and get back up there to ride with the old man ocassionaly if you ever wanted to hop on my supercharged apex with the ZX2 your welcome to. Probably be next year as the snow or lack there of is a problem.

Having some experience with the Airwave, I doubt the often claimed 10mph speed loss. Maybe 10 or 15 years ago that was true when OEM skids had only 5"-6" of real travel (basically drag skids) when compared to an M-10. On my IQ600 I still see 103mph with an Airwave Platinum edition. I would look for other differences with your buddies like lug height or added rotating mass from studding.

Also, a cool trick for more speed with an Airwave is to let out 10-15psi from your normal setting. I've seen 3-5mph gains on a GPS simply by doing this.
