Hey Dan..like the new avatar and user name.
I'd be interested in seeing the latest of your handy work..
also...kinda confused on the flap riveting of the shorter piece of coathanger?? picks dont show so well..
I was thinking of just riveting directly to the airbox lid instead of the zip ties??

why didnt you put the filter under the plastic ?
Then you could paint the plastic dress it up
also what if a branch hits that and rips it
Just my 2 cents

WOW,this thread is back i see!...LOL....like a bad penny!...just kidding!
defintely dont want it on inside as it would either get sucked in by motor or allow snow in easily into any gaps...
it looks perfect when cowl is on sled...Ive seen several others make their own and IMO(biased lol) mine is very very factory looking and Im abit of a freak about how my sled looks!..ask anyone who rides with me!.lol...and YES this stuff is TOUGH,ripping it is not easy!
im still in BIKE MODE(new Vrod)...so havent done anything on sled yet,but I do need to make another RAM AIR,as I had a little incident with my motor ect ect ect..LOL....Ill post alot more when season comes around...
meanwhile my VROD is alot faster then my sled will ever be!...even when i ran NOS!....The blacked out Vrod will run 143mph on radar so far!..HEHE..gotta love this thing...who says ALL harleys are only for puttin and posin...this Porsche powered Harley is a rocket!
cya all soon!
