Make me hook up

i run the stock track with 96 studs and i have my transfer set to middle.

my seld hooks up fantastic on the trails. yes it still spins somewhat but its very controllable and allows for throttle steer.

track

like i said i'm from the old school, better part of 40yrs i have had studs,
but i never felt safe without, i don't race much at all but i like mid-range and i could ring track to easy, stopping also never felt safe, this is just my opinion. and at my age i'm a little bull headed.

Don't go with a long track unless you have a big turbo or your off trail in the powder a lot... Run 144 studs down the middle of your track you will gain a ton of bottom end and you will not lose any top end, get 144 1.45 megabites and you will love your new ride

Agree yamadog1 1i went without studs a few years back as I read a post like this. Never again will a bady down a side ride or going into a corner wondering "if" it is icey or not. There maybe areas where you dont need them but Im not looking to find out where I can stop or go. Plus if you want to spank your buddies you will enjoy them. You will loose a little top end as rotating mass will take effect but you get to top end way faster and stop much quicker IMHO.

Well atleast I can cross off the red ones.

1: Take my 121 stretch it to a 144 put a 1.352 cobra on.

2: Take my 121 stretch it to a 144 put a 1.352 cobra on and put studs on.

3: Take my 121 stretch it to a 144 put a crossover 1.5 track on it

4: Take my 121 stretch it to a 136 and put a crossover 1.5 track on it....... EDIT THEY DONT MAKE A 136 CROSSOVER SO THIS OPTION IS OUT.

5: Stick with my 121 put a 1.5 crossover track on it

6: Stick with my 121 put a 1.352 Cobra on with studs.

7: Stick with my 121 put a 1.25 somthing track and run a ton of studs

I was looking at tracks and I cant get a 1.5 Camoplast Cross Over track in anything other then a 144, 151 or 159.. ARGH

hookup

I did the 121 to 136 and then added a 1.5" lug track from a Ski Doo Summit..Lengthened limiter strap one hole...put transfer rod out to about 3/4max...Shock at second clip, three notches up on adjustment...Sled will and does hook in all conditions...My buddies Nytro use to be able to pull 2 sleds on me right from a start...now we are even... ;)!

Newfie would it be safe to say most of your riding is virgin snow? Or do you do alot of trail riding.

what about a 136x16in track...some posts say they will fit with careful alignment. You would get a larger footprint than a 15x144 but it would effect suspension geometry, rail strain, and ability to wheelie less. There is also the distinct possibility that it may handle more flat on trail (just speculation). Another thought is getting custom extensions for a 141 length (heard muffinworks does custom stuff) and going with a 141x1.5 cobra off of a xfire.
just some food for thought.

The only 1.5 track I would think about using are the Camoplast Crossovers, since there lug looks like its a little thicker and hopefully wont break or roll over due to trail riding.

Or you could fine a good used mountain track and cut the lugs down to 1.5. I do this on my 08 MTX for trail riding. Gives you a very strong lug.
