Or gear it correctly and never worry about it again.Yes, this is a huge problem for the Yamaha secondary running the Pink, White or Yellow springs for Yamaha.
Thunder Products Clutching have 2 secondary springs that don't coil bind. That is one option.
If you machine your secondary for coil bind, it will not have effect on your belt deflection. That is controlled by the rear of the secondary clutch on the all the Yamaha models except for the Sidewinder and new 2 stroke Yamaha that has Team clutches on it. The Sidewinder belt deflection is controlled at the front of the secondary now.

#1 this is the Viper section not Sidewinder. Different clutches unless you have changed them?If i take .070" out of the secondary will i have to do anything to the primary, will i benefit from this,is there any room for a bit more OD on the yamaha clutches?
#2 If actually Sidewinder clutches why would anyone machine them when they are supposed to be structurally weak?

If you take .070" out of the spring pocket, you will gain top end mph until the primary is shifted full out. If you machine the primary for overdrive, you will gain even more mph. 2 different areas of concern. Hope that answers your question.

Looking forward to trying your orange secondary on my 2020 RS Venture. First of it's kind! Lol
