Amen to that, bring on the snow. Once you ride your Apex the Viper will be nothing more than a pleasent memory and you will know you made the right choice.
naa you wont miss the viper after a few rides on the apex. i went to a rx from a srx and it took a bit to get used to the feel (engine braking and toppyness in turns), but i'd never go back after a few rides and getting the feel of'er

Compare it to a 2007, keeping in mind a 2006 has depreciated a good/at least $1500 from a discounted price on the 07.
the 150 EFI motor is simply amazing, you will love it for that alone!

You'll completely forget about the viper after ridin the RTX about 100 ft (i did), I sold off my 2 vipers last year, and never looked back, Vipers were a good sled in their day but there is just no comparing the 2, You should be able to find a used / leftover one for maybe around $8000-$8500, but anything over that and u should just consider an 07. Good Luck

Stricly a guess ummm $9400 + tax for an 07, try Port Yamaha in the vendor section.
An 06?
By all rights $1500 below the 07 because even new they have depreciated that much being a year old. But if you are going to keep it a few years and you like the way the 06 looks then $8500 is not so bad.

i paid $8,600 for my attak new in february of 06 if that helps. personally though, i would get the 07, much better rear suspension for the rtx's intended purpose.

I do miss the sound of a Yamaha triple 2 smoke. I don't know what it is but that engine always sounded really good when it was started.
