MCX mid-mount help needed

Climbmax, mahaman is bringing the sled here and once I get it in front of me I will shoot you an email and we can compare wire harnesses.

;)!

Srxspec - Correct.
Sled is currently in NY, and I am currently in MN. Picking the sled up 3-7-08, then over to your place. Appreciate the help with this.

The new ECU box should be in this week, and as soon as we get it we will swap the current one out to see if that was it. As soon as we get it I will let you know, otherwise will call you around 3-7 to make arrangements.

Thanks again.

That is certainly an option that we may need to try out. ClimbMax has the same system (including the intercooler) which is working well for him - which is what is leading us to the wiring / ECU box. We will have a back up plan for the intercooler if the ECU and wiring check out good. :exc:

If you have swapped injectors and injector wiring between cylinders and problem hasn't transferredto the other cylinder it would seem to eliminate fuel and ecu problems. Thats why it would be interesting to try another intercooler to see if it is an airflow problem at your specified rpms.

Thanks - certainly something we need to eliminate. Also looking at all the wiring - TPS hook up, all sensors, etc. We did this but will do it again when we get this new ECU. I am not running the standard Yamaha gauge set up - the pod is not on the sled as it has a complete data collection system - so also need to make sure that is not causing the issue. Process of elimination at this point but am confident with everyones input we will find the culprit.

How is the trouble shooting / swapping of parts going? Any progress?

The new box arrived - and am changing that out. Also found a few things regarding vacume that didn't appear to be correct that we changed out. Mark at Leipheimer has been a big help. Snowy were we are at and the sled is set up for asphalt - plan on testing next week. We'll keep you posted.

Found a few things we needed to look into - but those things didn't change the way the sled runs. The new ECU box arrived and the weather finally broke, and it was the box! Sled runs great on the practice runs we have done. Needed to (and have) ordered a boost controller - as we are smoking the track off the line.

Had the sled on the scales to get the balance correct - the boost controller should be in this week and we should be at the track in the next week or 2.

Mark at Leipheimers was a big help in connecting us with another box - Thanks.

:) keep us posted on how she runs :)
