Hey guys like the title says I'm looking for a good clutching mechanic in Michigan, I live in Lapeer. I have a 2015 ltx viper and have added a sandale can and just looking for someone to install a generic clutch kit, I have not decided on wich clutch company or kit yet and my only mod on my sled is the can. I bought this sled new last year and have 1500 miles on it now.

Easy enough to do it yourself with a little research. If you take it to a shop they will just have some high school kid doing it. Easy jobs like that usually get shoved onto the "new guy" heck you might even enjoy it. Job well done satisfaction. Don't be scared everybody has to start somewhere.

I have watched the thunder products video for the big venom kit and thought I could do it....... maybe if someone with a little no how could watch over my shoulder I would feel better about it and be learning a valuable lesson. Well anybody that has done it before and wants help I would welcome the help, I'll throw in a case of beer too!

My clutch guy Jeremy Hannon has moved his shop or I'd just take it there

Those are my videos on Youtube for the Thunder Products videos. Thought they were good, but if there is something missing, I could definitely help out.

***Not all clutch kits will have the same components. Some kits have helix's, different springs and weights....some do not. Plus they don't all work the same. ***

I'll watch the video again, I'm just a little intimidated I guess

Order the Big Venom kit from Thunder Products, watch the video and spend a few hours in the garage. The weights will come all set up so you just need to swap them in to your primary. It’s very easy to do and you will have the satisfaction of doing it yourself and you’ll learn a few things too.

Howard Haack in North Branch. H&H Performance. Don't have his number, just do a google search. Very knowledgeable

You also could go to one of the group rides. If I am there I would help or many others would too.

Half the guys on here are tweaking clutches every morning anyhow! Just make sure you get an adjustable kit that has screws/washers or the magnet system. Drilling out old rivets and hammering in new ones like the factory arms isn't fun (or really possible anywhere but the garage). I went with the Thunder Products kit personally, lots of help/knowledge here for that kit.

If you are truly interested in a shop in Michigan check out Schmidt Bros Motorsports. Might not be too far from you and know a ton about yamaha.

But as stated, if you review some of the the good videos already produced its actually pretty easy.
