so you guys out there with the se and a mega float. if your bottoming out, do you just pump it up more????

Yes, you need to go up 5 lbs at a time until it stops.... or at least only bottoms slightly on the big wash outs.

Set air pressure with rider on the sled to maintain a 38 to 40 MM set in. Measure on the shock fully extended, take a shapry and mark a line on the float and set pressure until you just touch line.

Now that's very interesting. Setting a preload to say. I have not read that anywhere. Thank you. Btw. How is the Hygear mods doing?? And did u fix your air leak???

Your spring is your ride height. As far as the Hygear Set up, it works great without the Ulmer pump because Hygear changed the volume of air in the shock and with the additional lines with air it drastically changes the affect of what they have done. I am going to talking with them to see if they can alter it for the Ulmer Air Kit. As far as the air leak , yes fixed:)

I have my mega float at 190psi and it only bottoms out in the stutter bumps when I'm really on the gas, cruising down the trails I've never bottomed it out yet

Sorry. Not sure what u mean by spring is your ride height?? As far as the mega float I want to make sure I understand the set in. Lift up the back mark the shaft of the shock approx 40mm in. Then let it down sit on it and filler up until the line shows. Or visa versa. Let air out until the line is just about to be covered. ??? Correct

You are correct!! The air is your spring and in this case the air or spring is setting the correct ride height.

You could be slowly loosing in the Mega shock. I have been loosing air since day 1. Yamaha just says too bad. Won't do anything about it. I just pump 5 lbs back in once a week. Looses 5 lbs a week weather I ride or not. Lost close to 100 lbs. over the summer just sitting there with the suspension jacked off the floor. I run shock at 180 lbs and I seldom bottom out, and I weigh 250 lbs. without gear.
