Midwest snow report

Its too to bad the UP doesn't have rules like Wis.
Everyone's on their way now, with nothing to stop them.
Plus local businesses are so ready for the extra dough. They are baiting everyone in on FB
I'd like to see everyone give it another week....oh well.
J T there is pretty good snow conditions in most area’s in Michigan so we are very fortunate that it spreads out all the riders to various area’s. Thats is something we have NOT had for a long time…Its really nice for everyone…. Now if we can get the lakes to all freeze ( thats happening now with single digits). This is shaping up nicely….

Good news... They dragged the barrels out on The Cisco chain today.
My point to last post is, it sucks. Lol. No rules to stop riders at any level of conditions, and locals need the business.
With that said, the more the merrier. Haha...why fight it.

I don't want to believe this is true....lol! F***!

What these clubs need more than anything is for everyone to go home. Let these clubs get after panning and packing without having to stop for traffic. Clean up debris from high winds, bust thru all the drifting then start laying a ribbon. With these cold temps headed in they should set up pretty nice.
Our local club wants to see a few guys get out as it helps to start building a base. But they don't want a full onslaught.

We have the same forecast here in the southern Wis snowbelt.......better get down here and ride while you can
Its getting hard to see the lite. Haha...I'm on it. Northbound out of Roscoe, try to make Milton and back. Unless I feel froggy....

Locally they send out active club volunteers. Its important here where some of the trails do not have convenient turnarounds for the groomer operators. The closed signs remain in place but the sled tracks folks see from the road trigger the 'me too' response then you have a collection of ci-idiots and those who believe the sticker they bought gives them the right to ride whenever/wherever. Should be interesting as the creeks are not frozen yet or just lightly skimmed over.

Enjoy!! It can change fast.
Heard they sunk a groomer by your place in the UP on trail 11

We got 24” on Wednesday all lake effect and rhode all day yesterday with pretty heavy traffic for a Thursday… The shear number of sleds pounded the new snow down to dirt in no time at trailheads, gas stops, and small towns.. We ran into no wet area’s and with the heavy snow it made the off trail’s seasonal roads a real joy .. The groomers have done a good job but it don’t stay flat very long and the weekend traffic may be disappointed unless we get more snow…oh and anyone thinking of lake riding in Northern Lower Michigan you got unsafe ice period…

1 inch on the ground in east central MN. Every storm has gone north or south. :dunno: Picked up my 2013 Apex in September and have yet to ride it. It's killing me.

I hear that... I have a new 23 Winder I'd like to be riding too, didn't get much time on it this last spring getting it late in the season, and of course the big warmup we had the second half of last season didn't help that either, even though they claimed record snow fall last season on the news.

We have 3.5" of fluff on the ground now in Welch and that will be gone after the warmup coming next week. Forecast is for temps in the upper 30's and you just know it will be more like low 40's. Our only hope is some February snow like we had a few years back, think it was Feb of 2019 when first snow didn't come till that first week and didn't stop till the end of Feb. Maybe we could get that lucky yet, but my fear is we may not turn a track all season with the El nino they talk about. Seen that before here in MN many times. Seems all the big snows are going south of us which is downright crazy.

We've had two month of WAY above average temps and about 10 days of below average temps by the time next weeks back to above avg temps. The snow needs to come when its not 20 Degrees above average and ends up in rain. It's a crazy thing we still love this sport...

No doubt, just like the winter of 98. Next week we will have nothing left in Chisago County. Hoping for good conditions the end of February in Price county WI. for an event we go to every year. Fingers crossed.....
