Reading and they say something about a clip. It has 3 notches. Move it to put more pressure on spring to help bottoming out

I think you are referring to the limiter strap.

So I guess I don't have that clip. Don't see anything like that. Just the ring adjusters at bottom and the spin knob at the top

The clip is under the adjuster. You need a spring compressor to change the clip location

We have the spring off. Collar is off. Don't see anything. When you say adjuster are you talking at the spin knob?

The location of the spring seat is fixed on the one end (rebound adjuster end). The other end is the adjustable nut that compresses the spring and gives the pre-load. You can only adjust the pre-load so much before you start running into coil bind. Then you could damage the shock.
