Viper xtx le
Love my viper but would like another bit of power.
I find the xtx le looses a lot of rpm in the deep pow or when The snow gets clammy. Much more then my nytro. I have no clutch work done yet or any other mods for that matter.
I'm not a speed guy just want want the track spin and grunt when I need it.
Not sure if I want to go turbo but am not totally against it either.
I'm wondering if clutching and exhaust work would get me enough to do the job.
I'm open to anything that will not void my 3 yr warranty.
Any ideas are appreciated.

I know what you mean by in the deep you loose a bit. The. Yamaha endorced mpi turbo will definitely fix your issue if you decide to go that route. We added the trail kits and wow what difference on low end, no lag or waiting for power either. I'm like you and could care less how fast the sled goes. We still have our 5 year warranty also

Most of that is clutching, in the "just the facts" at the top of this forum under clutching your answer is there, and no your sled need not bog in deep snow. http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/just-the-facts.120191/

The other part of that is the ski weight, gets worse when snow is sticky or deep. This will fix the steering and heavy skis - http://www.ty4stroke.com/threads/interesting-skid-shock-spring-info.131147/

Thanks I'll have a look.
I'd like to get there without turbo.
Clutching and a can would be nice to start with

You will need clutching for whichever way you go even stock. We like deep snow here :D

Yeah I might try the COTC and a aftermarket can.
After that I can alway look at a turbo if needed.
Did the COTC give you what you needed in the rpm department.
If I order the kit from pioneer will I get everything needed?

I really liked the Midrange punch the Excell system gave mine. You could feel the difference. I would do your mods before clutching since then you only have to clutch once.

the excel kit, is it a full exhaust? header, can, intake???
Silencer and Cold Air intake. Right now I am running the Evo Header,Evo Silencer(quieter) and the Excell Intake. Been meaning to do a Silencer swap between the two but running out of time. My take is if you run without the header it has a distinct midrange punch. You can feel it. With Header it smooths it all out again but I did have to add weight to primary so I believe I did gain power. Definitly more consistant.

You can go the cheap way and test, that way if you change your mind you are not out a lot of cash. I would suggest air box mod (free) and the 200 bucks or so for the COTC from Pioneer. Really wakes up the Viper.

A friend of mine has a viper with a 129 track and my 2016 with a 137. With COTC what will the clutch a gauge at. My friend sled with the 8dn belt is at over 4000 rpm will it come at about 3300 or much higher.
THANKS
